From Pinellas County: "Can my employer prevent me from serving as a juror or can I be terminated from my job for having jury service?
No. Florida law prohibits any employer from preventing a person from serving as a juror or firing an employee who is serving on jury duty."

That juror is on probation, though - and I'm not sure, but if they probably could dismiss him for any reason - even a made up one

I love how these parents talk so lovingly about their children. How they can't leave their children. Casey has no reaction whatsoever. Casey is going down... she can not muster up any kind of sympathy for Caylee. She just can't do it.

Juror #1389 talking about leaving her 5 year old child with her husband in a light manner. Giggling and cheery...full time student. ICA is sending the virtual daggers again. :) I can only imagine that ICA is probably very jealous of this potential juror.

I cannot believe ICA nodding in agreement at juror saying that it's different mom taking care of kid from dad.....sure that's so but how the bleep would ICA KNOW????

  • #1,525
This mom works, goes to school cares for her daughter. Nope the defense does not want her. Wow I was wrong..but guessing the defense will NEVER let this woman on a jury.

Wow...this girl is not taking the hint. HHJP is trying to give her an out...and she's not getting it.

  • #1,527
OMG - a MOTHER caring for a 5 yo. is different. Anyone get a screenshot of ICA when she said that?

she actually nodded her head in agreement! I saw it anyone else?

  • #1,528
Jury duty is important, but I can't see seriously telling someone to push their schooling back a whole semester. Life needs to move forward for these people.

  • #1,529
OMG - this woman has a 5 year old and says she feels funny leaving her alone with father...because nobody can take care of kids like mom....and HHJP says something along the lines of "yes, you cant' turn your back on them ..they get into stuff"

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THE LOOK ON ICA'S FACE

So sad. She would be nice on the jury.

No. Florida law prohibits any employer from preventing a person from serving as a juror or firing an employee who is serving on jury duty."

The issue most times is that companies either don't pay or pay for only a week or 2 ...........most folks can't endure that kind of time on $30 a day.

The State is salivating for this juror.

Mr. George wants her! Excused only for the day! :great:

#39 - 1389 woman

hardship, 5 yo daughter, but she is a nursing student and primary breadwinner, husband would have to care for her on his own, *thinks* they pay, would graduate 5 months later than planned but doesn't think she would have to pay extra money

subject to recall

I just have to say... I love Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. !
:HHJP:
He has such a kind voice to the potential jurors!!
And his laugh is the best :)
:blowkiss:

  • #1,538
She is a Nursing Student. SA wants her...

  • #1,539
I love how JP treats these potential jurors, he smiles, laughs and makes them feel comfortable.

That seems unfair. This would totally change her life at this time. They should let her go.
