OK...candor schmandor....that just wasted about a half hour we'll NEVER get back !!
Why the he77 aren't they doing this/paying attention to these comments the FIRST time around!!
Oy!!!

  • #183
Couldn't they have somehow weeded him out earlier in the week???

  • #184
OMG the defense is objecting this??

I should've known.
they want to object in case there is some reversal issue by excusing him. The judge pretty much sealed the deal on no reversal with him by reading the law and asking him many times and given him ample amount of time to reverse his opinion.

This video made me cry, I have lost a daughter and I totally agree with this PJ. How if ICA is innocent could she listen to this womans story and sit there untouched? GUILTY

Wow that was just to much to watch, ICA that look just say's it all to me. Pure evil  Makes my stomach turn

#1251 elementary classroom teacher - school almost out - is a DROP candidate (meaning she is going to retire soon) I liked this woman initially

Let's see how this one goes

Why doesn't his Honor get all this type of stuff out of the way when he addresses the jury pool, in general? All he'd have to do would be to instruct the prospective jurors IF they feel they have any reasons that would cause inner conflict, AFTER he reads the case, to report to his administrative assistant and advise them of their issue(s). Then he could call them in individually and address their specific concerns. It would make things go a little faster, imo!

I missed the conclusion regarding the male pj who was studying to be a mechanic. Did he get dismissed or is he in?

  • #193
Don't like this at all. You aren't going to change someone's mind on this subject with a speech or two. He may agree here but in his heart I don't think will change.

He has to do this for the record .He's not trying to change minds, just make the record crystal clear.

Has anyone been chosen so far today?

Yes, one guy with a pot conviction when he was very young
Very sad story - you may want to flip back and read it at a break.

She should be a good jurior.

What motion(s) did the DT file? Did it have something to do with DP instructions?

  • #197
Couldn't they have somehow weeded him out earlier in the week???

They changed venue because of pretrial publicity, so that issue would be the first issue addressed. IIRC

I may be wrong - trying to remember what I read in the lawyers thread...... I'd better check!

The jury makes the decision. It does not have to unanimous. The judge usually goes along with the jury but can reverse their decision if he chooses. Hope I got that right.

  • #199
is this the lady that has to file her retirement paperwork?

  • #200
1251-F- Teacher, Elementary school-going to retire early had concerned with that paper work if on jury duty. Judge had stated during the hardship phase that he could help accommodate her on getting her paper work through. She has grown children
