DT objecting....claiming the SA is discriminating PJ because of his age.

So let's get this straight.....ica who is MUCH older than this PJ should have the mitigation consideration of age however a potential juror who is YOUNGER than her they are going to complain that the state is discriminating against age? Hmmmmmm so the dt wants their cake and to eat it too?

Pretrial Publicity: *Has a Facebook (about 245 friends)- hasn't posted anything on it regarding jury duty. *In college so no time for the news. *Knows what blogging is, does not blog. *Doesn't watch Nancy Grace, 48 Hours, etc. *Never seen any TV show or report about the case. *Never heard of George and Cindy Anthony. *Heard at work that jury selection for this case was coming to their county..wasn't active in the conversation. *Hasn't seen/heard anything about the pretrial hearings for this case. *Says he is "not a big news guy". *Most of the TV shows he watches are wresting, Two and a Half Men, etc. *Gets most of his news from word of mouth. *Has a Twitter account (with 20 followers). *Has a YouTube account- only posted 1 video regarding a commercial. *Never been on TV or any reality shows. Used to do acting in his high school drama classes.

Death Penalty Stance: For it. *Believes it's a very serious matter. If it's going to be used, must be used for the right reason. *No religious views regarding it. *Doesn't believe in the saying "an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." *Would want to hear all sides before judging. *Believes he can be fair/impartial on the case. *Says he would want Casey to testify at the trial, but would follow the judges instructions.

Misc.: *Never been on jury duty before. *No family/friends in law enforcement. *Currently works at Sears as a sales clerk..has been there 4 years. *No experience with search and rescue dogs. *Never been to any Orlando night clubs. Has been to some restaurants in Orlando inside the theme parks while visiting his dad. *Was the victim of a hit in run in Orlando. Never filed any report. *Likes wresting, Harry Potter books, acting, traveling, going to new restaurants, etc.

Family: *Single. *Lives with his mom and stepfather. *Father lives in Orlando- hasn't mentioned anything to the case about him. *Has a pet bird. No dogs.

Education: *Student at Valencia College. *Studying acting. *Looking to become a highschool drama teacher. *Currently studying for his "general AA". *Plans to transfer and get his bachelors degree in performing arts.

State: Objection for cause because of his bias towards law enforcement and untruthful in his juror questionnaire.

Judge: Cause denied. State uses strike.

Defense: Challenges the strike- says the state is only trying to strike due to age.

Judge: State has a rational basis to exercise their strike. No reason to prevent state of using their strike.

Juror excused.

I think the State uncovered more than they let on and chose not to air it. Mr. George danced around the do you "go out in Orlando" question quite a bit. I think they found a photobucket account of something.

The SA would not just let him go...I just think they didn't need everything they had.
