I've been questioning a lot of this too!

Last night before they left HHJP said that he wanted 15 - that tomorrow (meaning Sat. - today) that when they got 15 he was going to line them up and swear them in. He told both the State and the DT to figure out if they wanted to strike any of them and they would be given the chance then. He also emphasized that once they were sworn in - then they could NOT be stricken.

So, today comes - we get to 12. I read somewhere that HHJP wanted to swear the 15 in at 7PM tonight. THAT didn't happen.

I'm thinking - Monday he'll bring the 12 in (and tell them to bring their bags with them) - they will be sworn in - and any strikes will be made then. The rest of the day will continue like we have been - and hopefully he'll get 3, 4, maybe even 5 more depending on if there are any strikes. He'll swear them in and they'll go get their bags and another charter bus will take them in.

Remember he said either Tues or Wed that he had a bus leaving on Monday - he said he would tell that one pj what time but he didn't want the time announced due to media. So, he already has a bud on Mon. and these 12 will go.

Gotta give him credit - he just may start this right on time. He said he would.

I'm impressed with how much he has gotten through considering the gameplaying and nonsense he's had to put up with. It's still a year and a half overdue, but that's neither here nor there. Poor Judge Strickland would have us going into 2012 I'm afraid.

Today JA was speaking with Juror " I can't remember her number", she was the one who had a 2 year old G-daughter who lived in New Hamshire, he referred to Caylee as the victim, after awhile AF said somethng, they all go over to speak with the judge, side bar I believe it's called, they all come back, and then JA is referring to Caylee as the alleged victim. What does that mean, does that mean Caylee is alive? Unless I missed it, I had not heard Caylee referred to as an alleged victim ???????

Suprised to know JA said this, if he did. did not listen in much today. Does this mean then that Caylee is now allegedly deceased? or allegedly placed in all those bags? :waitasec:

Didn't he say at one point today "Come Monday we will be on Perry Time"..or something to that effect?

He did. It was much discussed on the thread at the time.

I think we should hold our horses on this one-- I recall the issue was the word "murder" rather than the DT's preferred claim of "accident". I can't remember which part of the day it was, but I think we should have a link before we disparage JP. jmo

This has been impressive to watch. I really think HHJP's main concern is getting this group sworn in and sequestered. He knows the media eruption that is already happening and that it is only going to get worse. He's worried about these 12 out, roaming free, computers, TV's etc. etc.

I think he'll get this done on Monday. And we will get our "AHA" moment on Tuesday morning as planned. Personally, I can't wait - its been a LONG THREE YEARS - Caylee, sweetheart - justice is finally here.

I am worried about appeals down the road if he does it this shorthand way.
Both sides are supposed to have 10 preemptive strikes, as far as I know. So if he brings in just 12 to 15 PJs, how does that work? Are they forced to accept them all pretty much, in the interest of time? I think that will ensure
some objections and appeals if so.

For example, the one woman that the state tried to strike already. The judge said, in denying their request to strike, that they did not spend enough time questioning and following through on their issues with her. BUT JUST BEFORE THAT THE JUDGE HAD ASKED THEM ALL TO CUT THEIR QUESTIONS DOWN TO 15 -30 MINUTES, TOTAL. So the judge, in admonishing Ashton said, the first juror was questioned for 4 hours, while this woman, not long at all. I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY UNFAIR BECAUSE THEY WERE TOLD TO MAKE IT SHORT. KWIM?

Yea, I kinda think he's been walking a fine line doing what he's been doing. But, if you listen - he ALWAYS speaks to the DT and ASKS them for their suggestion - what would be BEST FOR THEM - so it kinda CYA's him - a little.

I would like to think that they all (HHJP, SA and DT) see what's coming. There is no way ICA is gonna ever walk out of prison again - at the very least. There has not been ONE person yet express that they thought she was innocent. Guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty - sure hope ICA is lying in her bunk tonight replaying all those people today in a row - one right after the other - guilty, guilty, guilty, guilty - its coming!

Yep - he said it. But he never gave any furthe explanation of what that meant, or what that was, or any details at all.

Caylee is not the alleged victim, she is the victim, we know she's dead....
Totally disagree with JP!!! Casey is the alleged murderer, of course we all know she IS the murderer............

Well, we haven't heard the DT say they are not pinning all this on Caylee, maybe the GA, LA & CA talk has all been diversion - they are actually going to claim Caylee was responsible for her own demise and ICA just panicked and "left" her body down the end of the street.

Not buying whatever they are planning. Caylee is the victim and ICA is the perp (alleged murderer) who caused this whole huge fiasco.

In the end HH never stopped them or said "time is up". The DT went over that limit,I think, and were allowed to.I get your point, but I think HH knows what he's doing.
He has to rein in the DT in some way or jury selection will take the next 3 years. JMO

Agreed. While the defence has done everything to find any other possible explanation and scapegoat; there isn't one...No one other than ICA fits the crime. As with the Stacey Peterson case, the defence threw out all possible alternatives but when push came to shove, there really weren't any credible alternatives.

I have missed all the jailhouse letters. Through her sneezes! Well not to poke fun but he does show up on toast sometimes. At least I hear He does.

Seriously she says she has found God? And she still wants to dig in her feet and keep this going. In most faiths repentence is a big part of your changed life.

In my faith acknowledging that Jesus is the Son of God and you have accepted Him as your Savior is necessary and asking for forgiveness and repenting.) KC shows having done neither but only God knows if she has. IMO if she had done these she would be on her knees asking for MERCY(yeah there's that word AF keeps using) from Him and ALL that she has hurt in her short life. I see no remorse from her. No emotion when little Caylee's name is ever mentioned. Heartbreaking

Have been pizzed, astonished, laughed, and almost cried today. My 1st live. May I say...while VERY long, it's been a blast. Have been able to state things that persons in RL would think that I am...well...KC'd! Met new friends. Thanks to all for your input. Especially mods. Am thinking it was an easy time for you, yes? Even with disagreement, there was a "feeling"....like next month's gonna be a good, good month?

Mazel Tov!...bep's

Has almost doubled my commentary today, promise I will not continue to be a blabbermouth.

I agree about the Peterson case. It was a lost cause for Geragos and the defense team.

But in some ways this is an even a bigger lost cause for the defense. At least Lacey Peterson was an adult, and so they could have said she went off somewhere on her own. Or killed herself, or went somewhere dangerous to meet a boyfriend.

But Casey was the mother in sole custody,at the time ,of her toddler. So when she went to Blockbuster on June 16th with TL, she and she alone, must answer as to the whereabouts of her child. There are no other options.
Who did she leave her child with, if not the nanny. And she cannot just claim that her parents had her, without taking the stand to accuse them of doing so. And good luck with that.

I think he has said that he is doing a swearing as soon as they get to 15 or 18... so if they want to use a strike they better do it soon.

Honestly, I don't think anyone wants to use a strike and be left with inept jurors they are stuck with.

Does anyone know why the public is prevented from hearing what the attorneys and judge are discussing when they go up to the podium?
