No questions from AF! Wow!!

  • #702
So if this guy makes it, will the Judge swear them in right away?
Tia!
that is what he said but I am sure there will be a few more strikes

JA is questioning him now. Getting clarification on his view of the DP.

PJ is saying he would have no problem following the law.

AF has no questions.

Mr. George is now up, asking about the cameras. PJ says it is in the back of his mind, that it will be in tonight's paper.

Can anyone remember what age group this guy is in?

Which is it? Is he against it or can he consider it? It seems black and white to me :waitasec:

I have to admit, I feel exactly the same way he does about this subject. I just think he is missing a crucial point.

I don't know if he understands this, but if you are FOR it in any instance, you are for it. (say even if you ONLY think we should kill Dahmer, Bin Laden, etc...you are still technically FOR it.)

So technically I am for the death penalty, even though a) i could probably never personally impose it, and b) only think it should be applied in extreme cases.

So I think he SAID he is against it, but I am not so sure that's what he meant.

Someone in the armed forces! Another good reason to have him on IMO.

  • #717
So, if neither side strikes this guy, we have 12. Does that mean the judge will swear them in? He called them in this morning.

JA: details about you not supporting the dp?

it is an absolute decision. I am not comfortable where some people have been put to death but found not guilty with DNA.

JA: do you have difficulty with the dp where the evidence is clear?

no

JA: you are worried about its application being used wrong?

yes

JA: based on that concern, would you have a tendency to apply a greater burden on the state than beyond a reasonable doubt?

no, I am ready to follow the instructions.

JA: applying that reasonable doubt burden to the penalty phase, you have no care about what your other jurors say?

no

JA: in a situation where you are fully convinced, you have no doubt at all, you would vote for dp? if the circumstances and law permit it?

yes.

MG: there are cameras.

yes

MG: does that make you nervous?

in the back of my mind that this will be in tonights newspaper.

MG: does have any impact on how you hear evidence?

no

MG: when you came next week you filled out a questionare I would like to ask: 39, married. no kids.

yes

MG: speaking about the jury duty he was called for. selected to sit?

no I was not.

MG: any other jury service?

no

MG: you a family member or close friend in LE?

I was in the coast guard for 12 years. got out five years ago.

MG: know anyone now in LE?

no

MG: friends in daily life with LE?

no

MG: you said yes to a family member being a witness to a crime?

correct
