3069: Judge thanks her for following his instructions.

((judge is irritated today))

Mistrials for naming a juror can go either way. There are cases in which a mistrial was granted, but there were some where one was not granted. I'm of the opinion, that, since the SA was striking the juror anyway, HHJP will not even entertain any idea of a mistrial.

Fryer, Mason and Baez are up to something big time! Did you all just see that?

3038 went to work - has been called back in and said she has a hardship (won't be paid)

next up 3069

previous notes:
#3069 - Female - exp hrdshp; is breadwinner - works as dept mgr; has 4 cats; will be pd by work

Has letter from work showing she will only be pd for one week - probably going to be excused

  • #307

((((((they struck way too many already imhoo))))))

she will be gone

  • #308
I'm sorry, but it kind of bothers me that there isn't more understanding for these pj's who could easily lose their jobs and/or pay over this

Another one bites the dust!

  • #311
$17K-$20K is what she says it will cost her to serve on the jury? Wow...

  • #312
Financial hardship. Has a letter from her employers saying they will only pay her for 1 week.

  • #313
3069 excused for hardship

  • #314
Juror estimates it would cost her between $17K and $20K to be on the jury for 6-8 weeks (she only gets paid for 5 days from her employer)

HHJP: have you heeded not to read news? not to discuss the case? and social media?

yes.

HHJP: anything changed?

yes, it has. I thought my company would pay me. They will only pay a week. I have a letter. It will cost me wages, expenses for pets: 17 to 20 thousand dollars.

HHJP: Step outside. Excused.
