So, does the DT have just one strike left? Can JP do what he was going to do yesterday and seat them when he gets 12? I woke up feeling hopeful that the jury would be seated today...now I'm very uneasy that this trial will even happen next week. I am so sick of the DT's stall tactics. If they have as good of a case as they'd like us to believe then you think they wouldn't be stalling so much. Does anyone think after we seat the jury they might try and get a plea deal? Sorta like Casey going all the way to the end of the hallway at Universal...

I need to remember that it took almost 8 weeks for a jury to be selected for the Scott P. trial.
Patience is a virtue and my goodness our HHJP has the patience of a dang saint.

There was a DP trial in Vermont or New Hampshire (can't remember off the top of my head) where jury selection took 4 months!

I feel sorry for the Judge. He has done everything possible to rein the defense team in.
They are just impossible.

I so hate to say this but they are playing JP like a fiddle...............and the ball is in their court, no pun intended! :(

The only good thing is that ICA will still be locked up until this trial is over...

I can't see how this is the fault of the defense. They never set a time limit on jury selection. His Honor did. How did he not see this coming? It is not required for the DT to submit to a prearranged time limit. They are allowed to do everything they have done. They are not the only ones taking so long to questions each juror. This has been an agonizingly slow process. How could it have been any other way?
Sorry, not pro DT, but this is on the judge, imo.

I don't get why this is an issue... they are so close and the DT only has one left. I can't imagine they won't be able to get one more plus alternates by the end of business tomorrow.

That is what the problem is, for the DT that is, they don't want a jury w/alternates.. they will file a motion to strike the whole jury etc...

Delay delay delay...

The defense does NOT want this trial to start period!!!

What happened this morning? I missed it.

The DT filed a motion about the jury selection process. They don't like that they have to "go fishing in the dark". It was :denied:

I say let's delay it and ICA will have her trial in a gymnasium somewhere in rural florida with no AC and a mob for a jury.

Bring it I am ready and hope it is televised.

Same thoughts here-High School auditorium or better yet, how about a VFW or Moose Lodge, lots of seats, lecturn, audio, or local theater- Stop stalling JB, get this done if you want so much to clear your client. 3 years of his technique, I'm sick of him doing this all the time.:waitasec:

I've been to Bristol.....JB does NOT want to go there. TRUST ME

Rural is as rural can be. BUT......lovely scrolling land.

IIRC Bristol is in the NW part of FL, very far from Orlando.

It is also where Ronald Cummings is serving his time for drug trafficking at Liberty CI!

Okay, so I went to the Doctor's, got my ear flushed out (I can hear again! :great: ), picked up some breakfast...and they still haven't finished the guy I was listening to when I left. :banghead:

Do you have an ear infection too?? OMG, I am so miserable and that is why I am not posting so much this week!

I do want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for keeping strong and being so wonderful with the updates. I would not know what to do without all of you! I can only listen for a short amount of time because I feel so weak. XOXOXOXO

ICA tries to engage AF in conversation without success.

I have uploaded some of the key points of what Judge Perry stated this morning and they can be found on my YouTube channel. I don't want to post the videos here to save room and time. :)

Dear God. Don't give the defense ideas like that! They read here, you know!

So.. Does this mean they are going to have to go somewhere else and start all over ??

In 1 word - YES. That is unless they can get through the remaining 15 jurors (mind you 1 is very ill and has been out since last week). Baez can use all his strikes then elect to use a Batson challenge - which in short, would result in dismissing all the jurors and will result in a new (and delayed) trial.

Just gotta love the DT - NOT.

MOO

What the DT has failed to consider is all the jurors sitting in the back waiting, are going to be furious with the DT and hold it against them!

OK, so Monday seems to be the earliest opening statements day?

THe law enforcement look says it all.

Forget about the paralegal ICA is now a jury specialist - Oh, I 'd love to stick that jury seating plan somewhere.....!

  • #858
Could HH swear in the jurors there and then move back to Orange County to seat the remaining juror and alternates?

No, all the jurors and alternates have to come from the same location.

  • #859
all I'm doing is sitting here thinking, this is all in Casey's court.... She is the only one that could stop all this right now, and she knows this

wow-change of venue might not be a good thing JB-if you end up in Jacksonville the conviction rate on a DP trail is 96%. What do you want Baez???

Oh... I SO wish they would bring it here!! For numerous reasons.. But especially for what you state above. We do NOT play around in Jacksonville.
