If there were to be a plea deal I would think JB would HAVE to have been back from lunch before the HJP also. IMO

if Baez had a personal illness or emergency.. wouldnt the judge or Mason(after court) at least say :private emergency: and decline to go into detail?? rather than just leaving everyone hanging..?

I would think if it was illness or a family emergency - something that was unrelated to this case, there would have been an announcement that JB had a private urgent matter that necessitated him leaving for the rest of the day. That would have ended speculation that JB's sudden absence was due to something in regards to the case.

She didn't have any problem admitting guilt in the check fraud trial.

That's true. I bet she'd be able to admit it in a sidebar or something, and not actually have to admit it in front of cameras. Like I said, she is a coward at heart, or she would not be where she is right now. She is going to exhaust every last option she has, and then I bet, want to plea at the last minute. She might be a sociopath, but there is no courage or bravery in her to keep this going through a trial.

that is not far from my mind...:banghead:

Baez and the DT team do not like the way JBP has been handling jury selection...
they keep filing motions regarding the location and IMO they think that ICA's due process rights are being violated...
:twocents:

But who is going to hear it? HHP said the US Supreme guidelines are 50 jurors and two alternates to choose a jury from - and he said the Defense has had 200, well above.

The US Supreme Court did not say it had to be a choice between 50 jurors who have been cleared for a death penalty trial and the DT was trying to argue that because "they couldn't determine what was ahead". Which makes no sense to me at all - who can see what was ahead?

Well, obviously the DT suspects that the WS Members can, and the 10 PJ's who walked in and said they couldn't serve because they think she is guilty.

I don't think she would ever admit killing Caylee, and I can't imagine the SA letting her plead out without a stipulation that she tell EXACTLY what she did and how she did it. And I can't imagine her doing that under any circumstances.

I think Richard Hornsby makes a very good point. The whole modus operendi of the defense has been to slow this down. So if JB hasn't called in sick, then this is a very good alternative.

  • #868
Well if JB were claiming to be sick and turns out he isn't - is that some type of violation? If there isn't then I guess he is really trying to shake things up and just set up situations where he will test the judge and see what the reaction will be.

All the judge needs to do is make a move against the DT that they can use to remove him, maybe including not allowing a sick DT to leave.

Just my 2 cents.

OK all Bash os going out for awhile give the server a little break. I will be back with ya this evening.

I hope that this isn't about HHJP getting removed I think he is a fair Judge who know's his law and is doing his best in a very crazy trial. Maybe that is the problem for the DT not my much in the way of appeal issue's.

I still just want scream. But I suppose this is the road we have to take to get to the end result and that is Justice for our Caylee and I have faith that in the end Justice will be served.

So play your games DT and delay for as long as you can because in the end Caylee will finally get her day in court and the justice she deserves!!!

I still get a bad feeling the DT is filing motions and it will be against JBP and his handling of jury selection...

Just a quick question....does anyone think the DT may be asking to have HHBP recused because he denied the motion this morning?

Heaven forbid that HHBP be recused! He is our ONLY hope of getting through this!!!!

Could it be CM withdrawing and that gave JB a bout of the runs? CM discussed it with Casey... it is my opionion that Judge Perry looked disgusted at someone at the defense table.

Aedrys, I think all ICA has to say is "Yes, your Honor".

The jury selection wasn't completed, though.

It wouldn't have to be to appeal to a higher court if they wanted to appeal the manner in which HHJP was conducting voir dire. IF...IF..IF...this is what is happening, the appeals court would review and issue an expedited order.

The only thing that doesn't add up is court is to resume at 8:30a tomorrow, per HHJP. :waitasec:

Yep, and she was at the end of the hallway when she did it, too.

Baez just this morning said he did not want to start all over...

wanted to get to work and interview the next 16

hhjp offered him that plan: to go to another location and start all over

The judge is allowing further questioning of jurors - the defense got their way already this morning after Jose's touchy speech about his promise to ICA.

Thank you!

I do think this about this morning's Motion that Ms. Fryer argued in front of Judge P and he denied it.

It seemed that JB was saying what the Judge was doing was against the law in Florida. do you think JB could be filing a motion in Orlando? Maybe that's why JP is so mad and JB is gone?

Defense counsel Lisabeth Fryer files a motion to contest the method of jury selection Wednesday.

Doesn't make sense for JB to leave the courtroom and not return if Lisabeth filed the motion. Why didn't JB the lead attorney talk to ICA?

MOO

Mel

Melanie, that motion was heard in court this morning and denied in court this morning.
