2011.05.19 Jury Selection DAY TEN (Afternoon Session)

Can I just ask a quick question. I am unfamiliar with watching a live court case in the U.S

Do we ever get to see the jury or will they always stay off camera to protect their identities?

When the trial is over, the jurors will be asked if they're willing to talk to the media.

In other cases many of the jurors were willing to talk to the media and it was done in a room in the courthouse with all the jury members seated. I don't remember if names were given.......think it was optional.

The media could ask the group as a whole or individually, questions such as what one piece of evidence was the most persuasive in determining the case or questions of this nature.

Could someone please fill me in on what has happened since Judge Perry did the en masse hardship interviews?

I have a very sick grandbaby here who I needed to tend to and it caused me to miss the court happenings.

IIRC, 9 made it through and they will be back tomorrow for voir dire. Then we went back to earlier pts who had not been excused and just went through half of the voir dire of a pt who seems likely to me. Nurse, I think, works in the OR, she does not watch news, likes the history channel, sports, military channel and craft shows, does crafts and honestly does not seem to know much about this case. She describes herself as fair and compassionate. We will continue voir dire with her.

Only a potential juror. Number 4083, a member of the jury pool of 30, who were questioned, never made it to the courtroom. He's an attorney. HHMP wants him found and asked why he didn't show up.
