Bailiffs have definitely been instructed to keep eye on cameras and microphone status today.

During the trial, will all of these attorneys be allowed to bring in laptops, cell phones, I-pads, etc? The fact that they all seem so busy with their little electronic gadgets is very unprofessional in my opinion...and seems very "distasteful" to me as well... anyone know?

When do the extra strikes for the alternates come into play?

It looks like ICA is taking a multiple choice test. She is randomly circling on each page.

  • #785
I swear LDB is messing with Casey by talking to Jose in front of her.

  • #786
KC looks like a school teacher grading papers with all that circling and crossing out things. What in the world could she actually be doing? There's no way she's reading anything - she's flipping too fast.

have either side used any strikes since lunch? TIA:)

I have 1 left for DT and 3 for SA
no... they are waiting until the end of the day.. possibly after tomorrow so they have more choices...

good call by hhjp imhoo

((he gets an A plus from me... he has pushed them along and there are only 4 strikes left for the 12 and one strike match for match with the number of alternates and the alternate strikes cannot be used on the 12))

I wish the jury would be able to see such antics. Sadly, they are unlikely to as they are out of the room on breaks and will see her only during testimony and argument. I'd love for them to see how she struts in and out and banters with her counsel, flirts, etc., all while she is on trial for murder and facing the death penalty. Crazy!

Don't most courtrooms have a "box" that the accused sits in?

AF: speaking about victim impact statements and how they can be "sad." She asks if the juror can put it aside and then slurs the words after that ....?

AF: are you fair?

yes. I listen to my patents. I care about them.

HHJP: before general voir dire please step outside.

Heck, I'm still wondering if Caylee's grandparents will give a victim impact statement or are they just going to plead for Casey's life, if she is found guilty? It will be very sad if the Anthony's do not give a victim impact statement for Caylee. If they don't, who will?

Here's what I got by the numbers

yesterday we still had 11 potentials from the beginning rounds
(I don't know how many he called in for today but you say there are 2 left in the back )

We've seen/heard 5 so far today counting 3093 who's up now. 5 + 2 = 7 That means we still have 4 left from the 11.

And we just got another 8 for Fri and Sat out of the new group -

4 + 8 = 12 We have 12 TOTAL pj's left.

We are at 14 alread through. That's 12 plus 2 alternates. There are a total of 4 strikes left counting both sides - SA 3 and DT 1

IT DOES SEEM WE WILL HAVE OUR JURY OF 12 AND A FAIR AMOUNT OF ALTERNATES - SWORN IN AND READY TO HEAR OPENING STATEMENTS ON

Monday May 23 at 9:00!!!!!!!!!!! :great:

Baez has taken Ms. LDB to the side for a chat

What could that be about?

JB "I'll trade ya five pocket squares for two of your remaining strikes"? :innocent:

AF Shaking her phone. Maybe checking for dinner places on Urbanspoon? :waitasec:

Ahhh my kingdom for a lip reader.

This jury selection is so tedious when Ms Finnell is up we all could have taken a lip reading course by now and passed with flying colours - just using the time she takes...

" Now do you understand that when you vote for the death penalty this person stays in prison untill they are lethaly injected and die?"

Is that condescending enough? I think Ann Finnell is kind of Passive/Aggressive the way she speaks to the PT's.
It would make me want to answer: Of course. That's why I'd vote DP, because I think that's what should happen to KC.

So did the juror ever show up that missed appearing with the 29 other jurors? I'm wondering what excuse he/she will have? Wonder if HHBP will hold him/her in contempt?

Is it just me or are there a zillion NURSES in the jury pool?

Pinellas County has a HUGE retirement population. That means lots of nursinghomes, clinics, hospitals, doctors offices, etc. Therefore-lots of nurses!!:waitasec:

Me too! Just back from dentist...do we still have the 14? or what? Have DT and State used their last peremptories? State had 3 and DT had 1 last I was here.

We still have the 14. The judge brought in 30 more pj's and is going over hardships with the entire group present, but only doing one row at a time.

7 out of 10 in the first row were excused.

Started questioning another pj from last week. We're now having what I thought was only a 5 minute break, but it's been more than 5 minutes.

Everyone still has the same peremptories you stated above.

The judge will swear in the jury tomorrow at 3:00. They are to be at the courthouse at 2:30. They will make arrangements to travel to Orlando on Sunday.

I'm sure I've left off a lot, but this is some of it.
