He would vote against DP

I think by definition there can't be a hung juror. Florida don't play. A 6 to 6 tie goes toward the death penalty. I was surprised there doesn't have to be 100%, or even a majority. 6 to 6 goes toward death.

But it doesn't mean she gets death -- that just means a recommendation. The judge will make the decision, even if they're 12 to 0 for death. It's ironic that Hornsby said Strickland wouldn't have imposed death no matter WHAT the jury said.

If I'm wrong, one of our el-fabo lawyers will come along and correct me.

Blaise (who is doing a happy dance 'cause she is off, and is selfish enough to wish the trial started next Thursday, 'cause the state opening will take up all the first day so the defense opening would be on Friday so I can watch.)

BBM

Re the bold: A 6-6 vote would result in LWOP.

Against it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????

Wow if the State of Florida was going to put it up for a vote in the state to have the death penalty yes or no....this JP said NO. State will have to consider booting this PJ.

Hey JB.....have you seen that fun I anticipated? It has to be here somewhere. Did you guys move it?

The PJ doesn't understand the questions by AF because they are asked in a backwards kinda way...very confusing

Is FOX local news wacky like FOX News Channel? I thought he said he only watches local FOX news.

Depends on the outlet - generally the local outlets aren't as "political"

I know quite a few people in the states who know nothing about this case.Boggles my mind too.

If the name 'Shaquan Duley' means nothing to you or if you can't name the specific details of this case, it shouldn't boggle your mind. The mind has a way of filtering -- if a case doesn't touch you, it's human nature to filter any information that you hear.

No one around me, at home or at work, know anything about this case. It hasn't touched them or impacted them.

Keep in mind that most are not like . . . us.

Blaise (But everyone around me wishes for me to SHUT UP about this case.)

But no - Beach clarified. :slap:

:floorlaugh: you gave me my first laugh today. Thank you.

Love how HHJP made certain this guy hears about the mitigating factor of age of defendant....so AF won't trip him up...:great:

yes, i've noticed how HHJP has incorporated much of the DT's questions to each PJ in his spiel to speed it up

i really like this judge

This is a new question....did AF change the script???

  • #294
HAHA That is a popular opinion.

  • #295
Well, at least this PJ is giving Ms Finnell the answers she wants to hear. He is one smart dude.

  • #296
Does anyone else get the impression that this juror is giving answers that he thinks the questioner wants to hear?

AF is tailoring her question to this particular juror for example the referendum vote - don't believe she used this before. This is odd because it seems like DT would want this guy but that answer will put the State into a tough position.
