the hypothetical questions are hard to answer

I agree. How could anyone answer the question would you vote DP or LWOP before hearing the evidence??? I think that is unfair. It should just be are you morally against the DP from the gate or not IMO.

I guess my point is 'if they are eligible to serve on a jury' and are not convicted felons, why is that even an issue? It wouldn't be any different than anyone receiving a ticket for speeding, jaywalking, etc. It was a violation of the law and they paid their dues.......so how does that affect how they may vote on a jury?
I've never driven drunk and think them that have must have less respect for the law - not as anal, etc.

I think this guy is bad for the state BECAUSE he works with kids that were like ICA in high school. He will have empathy for her. I think the State should get rid of him. I don't think he is so impartial.

Is ICA talking to or acknowledging Baez today?
Something about ICA got angry at him as she was walking out of court yesterday

I truly believe that those who at this time (other than family)---KNOW what she is about....and she is only surrounded by newiebies.....after a while they all kind of fade away...jb is looking for his moment in the spotlight to get brighter due to this...not dimer:twocents:

No, I believe the alts are random. No one will even know they are til the end

That's what I thought, but then HHJP said yesterday that he would seat them in the current order. So any strikes that are used will move everyone up 1 slot behind the stricken juror.

Yes I understand what you are saying. I can't outweigh this guy one way or the other as the pro column equals the con column. I don't know what to think of him!

I do think he "wants it" bad tho!

:cow:

Those of us who have been or are teachers love "teachable" moments or experiences.
That said, I'm on the fence about him. ..:waitasec:

So the guy they just had, won't be a foreman candidate. He's 5th alternate right now, with 4 strikes total before swearing in. So, at best he'd be Alternate #1. Of course both sides receive extra strikes based on the number of alternates HHJP chooses, so, who knows where that guy ends up. I agree with PP's, though, he'd be an interesting juror, for sure.

I think the odds of the 1st and 2nd alternate being used is good. Rarely have I seen a long trial like this where alternates do not come into play.

Opposite, he would have more empathy if she turned her life around and did something but she didn't, she stole, lied and only cared for herself and eventually killed a baby that counted on her own mommy to protect her. MOO

I believe that last guy has an agenda. Didn't find him to be highly intelligent. Just arrogant. I see him hanging the jury.
