2011.05.20 Sidebar Thread (Jury Selection Day Eleven)

Is there anywhere I can watch the jury being sworn in?

I just love love love L O V E (did I say love?) how the "perry plan" forced the very unprepared defense to use up all their strikes early on.....

I am also proud of the SA for not using all their strikes to delay this any more

I further commend both sides from not totally striking 3308 (grandma to the baseball game coast guard guy) but rather putting him as an extra alternate

Five alternates. Are we going for more tomorrow? Seems kind of light for a trial of this magnitude.

I was out for a while too and am catching up. I'm curious...Did any more information come out about the "detective" in black that talked to the juror?

Watch this......(all the MODS are fixing to faint) :floorlaugh:

I think we should have a WS jury and they should post as it goes.

:great: :innocent: :woohoo:

I have to also add that I commend hhjp for letting the defense question ALL OF THEM... every single one of them... before swearing in

that is what they wanted... and they got it..

now they have to deal with it

GREAT IDEA AEDRYS!

mods should have a swearing in thread for websleuthers with all the rulz posted and everyone has to thank it to "swear in"

I think we do that when we agreed to the TOS. :juggle:

so, can I say that I have some reservations about 1319, 1429, and 1007? the rest I am okay with

I do believe that 1319 is the "Wildcard"..but who knows??..IN Scott P. trial Strawberry Shortcake juror who they considered their "Wildcard"..ended up being the most vocal in the end :rocker:

Personally DP isnt as important to me..as having KC found guilty of 1st Degreee is the most important..and being Canadian LWOP suits me just fine...That means she has a possible 6 + decades being encarcerated..and I doubt very much she will be treated well during that time...ALL Child Murderers are rather frowned and hated..even in that "Group" of people:rocker:

that is a great idea teh!

you know back in the early days when Caylee's case was a series of endless threads we had one poster ((sorry I forget who you are!)) who had a barn with old cars parked out in it in the heat and she bought a pizza and put it in one of the old cars and reported back on the smell, bugs etc for days... weeks!

All the pizza did was shrivel up! No smell! LOL..

I'm glad the jury is sworn in, and I'm glad I was with you all when it happened.

Can't wait 'til Tuesday, WOO HOO!!

  • #434
I remember that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nurse, can you tell me about your reservations about 1429 and 1007? TIA!!!!

1429 is the long grey haired lady who lives with her boyfriend... she seemed very wishy washy and push overish... she is the one who had a dui. I liked her but only as an alternate. She did not seem to have the verve I am expecting from a juror

1007 was the giggly lady that was easily swayed and seemed like all she wanted to do was "please".. I also would like her as an alternate but not someone that can set her own opinion firmly in the ground

this is all moo

No more hearings until the start of the trial Tuesday, HHJP is moving forward with 5. I actually held my breath when Baez asked for more, relieved when HHJP didn't give him any.

More than that.......:floorlaugh: But heck, we could have a Judge and everything. lmbo.

Am I the only one who finds it suspicious that the juror ended up talking to a detective who was dressed in black? Did they take her into the hallway with everyone else and if so, why wasn't she prevented from talking to people? Everyone knows that the pj's shouldn't be talking to anyone about the case - especially right there in the courthouse! I'm very curious about this incident and I hope a journalist follows up on it!
