I think he is building slowly into her fantasy existence and world view, where she was in charge of the shot girls and acting as some sort of manager. she was smart sexy successful etc etc etc. It was to slip herself into this role that she sought to erase the obstructions from her life. Such as her daughter. (just as she is now also seeking to erase her family via the sex abuse lies in order to construct another elaborate fantasy).
