Isn't Mr. Birch the one that will tell of all the flies coming out when they open up the trunk?

I am wondering where she left the body prior to placing Caylee in the car. How often did the Anthony's use their freezer in the garage? How big is it? Chest freezer or stand up? Could she have place Caylee in the bottom of the chest freezer in a trash bag and placed food items back ontop? We know she often stole food.

I know we used to have a chest freezer and I HATED it because I would NEVER dig to the bottom to get something.

Isn't it a chest freezer? I've always wondered too if she was bagged at the bottom of the freezer, but would ICA be smart enough to do that to halt decomp? I think more than likely she was placed in a few different spots before ending up on Suburban. With the dogs hitting on the playhouse, I wonder if poor little Caylee spent the night out there before ICA put her in the trunk the first time. This is all so disgusting & incredibly sad.

Honestly, listening to SB's testimony, I kept thinking, 'are you paying attention, KC? That was your LITTLE GIRL he was smelling. Caylee was speaking, saying, don't forget about me!'
That's why we're all here. I do hope LDB heads JB off at the pass and addressed why he didn't call the police about what he thought it was. I guess my question would be if he personally knew the circumstances of how the car got to the Amscott? How much turnover in vehicles was there? It's possible this was one car among many that got lost in the shuffle, so to speak, and while the faint smell might have caught his attention, he didn't see anything in the car to indicate something awful had happened. We're on the other side of this case looking backwards - hindsight can be 20/20, so why it might have been obvious to us that the police should have been notified, it's possible it just didn't occur to him that it was necessary. He didn't know anything about KC or Caylee or the Anthony family. Hope I'm making some sense - JMO.

We're simply discussing his testimony. I'm sure at least 1 person on the jury is wondering why Mr Birch didn't alert the police about the smell. I can't be the only one wondering about it.

I'm not wondering about it, here is a very busy man (who didn't even tow the car) going about his normal business. He has seen everything from a corpse to remains from a car accident, old food etc. He has seen them many times, he smelled decomp from the interior of the car and he checked there was no overt reason for it. This was not exactly odd in his profession for evil smells to emanate from towed cars...

Your daughter sounds a lot like my son,who has had the luck of seeing me glued to the computer the last few weeks watching every second. I tried to explain this to him as well(he is 5 next month) and his reply was,"But Mommies love you. They don't hurt you. She can't be a REAL mommy!"

It breaks my heart how innocent they are to all of this and how jaded we have all become from this:frown:

Your sons comments just put that lump right back in my throat.
They are so innocent it is great to watch and makes things like this case so much harsher. That is why I try to talk to her about everything I can teach her. But, walking that line of a lesson and scaring/jading them is a tough game to play. I try not to hide this world we live in because one day they will get it all.

I am sure there is something in place in regards to not tampering with a vehicle until the registered owner comes to claim it or the proper days have lapsed and proper procedures are followed in which they can begin the process of claiming and registering the abandoned vehicle to the company...
LE was notified with the TAG number in order to obtain the registered owners name so they can send a registered letter
The car was not reported stolen

notifying police of the smell of death is hardly "tampering". and might be considered the right thing to do, regardless of ANY other considerations, such as 1. company policy 2. stolen or not stolen, or 3. anything else.

Okay suspicious like, Simon Birch had something to do with Caylee's death? Or the disposal of her body?

I am tired of this merry go round so you will have to excuse my upset at the defense tactics. Blame whoever is on the stand. If Simon would have called the police Jose would find something suspicious in that...

there is only one suspicious person in that court room and that is Casey "the shopper" Anthony. IMHO.

I am tired of innocent people being blamed for ANYTHING and everything in this case. Especially Caylee who at this point has been blamed for her own death.

HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

Congrats to our new Mod, NURSIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've often wondered that too, but then I think she would have been too afraid of Cindy or George getting something out of the freezer and finding Caylee. FWIW I have trouble believing Caylee was in the car from the 16th, the odor would have been far worse. ICA must have had her somewhere else for a while.

I think it will be answered after lunch.
I understood him as saying that it was a minimal smell ..and if he had the paperwork in front of him at the time, which is what I understood, then he noticed how long the car sat at the Amscott before they picked it up. If the smell was minimal at that time, after a few days had pasted, I'm almost certain that just looking in the car discounted the minimal smell to him at the time, especially given the days that the car was unoccupied.

thats ALL he can say.

still, its not good.

I agree too. There really is no way for the DT to give a good explanation for the tattoo. They are trying to claim kc was molested and abused by her father and brother. They are saying Caylee tragically drowned and her father made her cover it up. What part of any of that makes one think of a "beautiful life"? They are saying her reactions are what she learned after her years of abuse. BUT, that doesn't explain why she'd think she suddenly has a beautiful life . . . .

The DT will try to claim it is a memorial to Caylee. I suspect they may because GA and CA both have them....following ICA's example  only theirs memorialize her and ICA's doesn't LOL.
Ahhhhh the beautiful life that ends violently and tragically after 34months. :banghead:

Oh wait! I'm loosing all my buddies, they are now "authority" figures..........rut roh.

*goes to the corner to shut up now. dang it!

Anybody think its ironic that they go on and on needing this and that to impeach witnesses....YET they represent the biggest offender of lies????????????????:maddening:

Not to mention that Caylee drowned and George was the last one with the body until somewhere down the line Mr. Kronk followed the duct tape to the woods off surburban drive.:waitasec:

Ok this is the kind of thing that she should not be allowed to be doing. She should not even be allowed to look over at them if you ask me. How easy is it to wink at a few guys on the jury and smile at them and smirk and play coy. That's tampering with a jury if you ask me. She also mutters and makes comments as she is leaving the courtroom yesterday Pizzd with TL. I think she needs to be sitting facing AWAY from the jury. I am not the only one noticing this and I dont think its right. Its manipulative. And I suspect she thrives on it.

Let her flirt with the jury. The jury is going to be thinking "How can this girl behave like this when she is on trial for 1st degree murder. How can this girl behave like this when her baby had accidentally died."

It makes Casey look bad!

Yesterday when Baez was questionin TL, baez refered to his deposition with TL on 2/11. Did Baez mean the year 2011? If so, why would he wait almost 3 years before taking a deposition from an important witness?

Here's the problem, IMO, Mr Birch didn't have to tamper with the car. He just had to make a phone call to the police alerting them to the smell of human decomp coming from the car.

He didn't. If I were on the jury, his explanation would have to be pretty darn good and have nothing to do with just following procedure/rules.

But maybe that's just me.

I think it'd be different if he suddenly came forward after Caylee was found and spoke of the smell. BUT he talked about it immediately. He spoke about it with GA and he told LE of it.

IMO, the smell reminded him of the death smell. He looked in the car and nothing was abnormal - no body, no blood, no signs of struggle. So, he went on doing what he does and following procedures. There's NOTHING wrong with that and we can't judge him for not calling LE. It doesn't matter anyway if he had or not.

You know what.... maybe he should have called, but what difference would that have made? Caylee would still be dead and it does not change the facts of the thirty one days.

Always have said anyone who smelled decomp in that car should have called 911. ICA is the one who put her dead baby there....that is what matters.

There wasn't a toddler missing yet.

Cindy and George hadn't seen Caylee since June 16th. I think the police knocking on their door questioning them about the smell of a dead body in Casey's car might have allowed investigators to add 2 + 2 and get 4.
