Mr. Birch testified when he peered into the window to see inside he smelled a faint odor of decomposition. He also testified that a car is sealed up so well no one would smell a strong odor. At least not until the vehicle is opened.

It sounds to me based on SB's testimony that you had to be really close to the car to even get a faint smell. TL wouldn't have smelled it from 2+ feet away.

I don't believe he was neglectful in not reporting to police. It's not as if he saw a dead body in the car itself. I believe he likely followed protocol for his company and that was that. GA & CA came for the car.. what else could he do?

Hubby is LE. Even if the tow yard called, officers would not be able to open the car w/o a warrant or permission from the owner. The tow company already sent notification to LE & the registered owners, there was nothing more for them to legally do. Also, tow peeps are very used to foul smells and cars of horrific crimes in their tow yards. That was hubby's 2 cents. :twocents:

How soon after death? You have to figure rigor mortis would have set it, and to close her mouth she would have more than likely broken her jaw (mandible) and it was found completely intact.

I honestly believe the duct tape is the cause of death. Why put it over her mouth & nose three times unless your intent was to suffocate her?

I'm thinking right after death. I think she was freaking out about that time and just wanted to shut her mouth. But, that's just my thinking, I may be totally off base.

I hope you're wrong. I would think if a sibling accused me of abusing them like that I would be done with them. He probably knew the real Casey better than most people.

Do you think he would do that knowing that she is accusing him of molestation? I know he hasn't been there in the courtroom, but I have a hard time believing that CA and GA wouldn't tell him what has been said about him. But if CA decides to play along with the defense, she might not tell him so that he sticks to the script. I just have no clue with this bunch, but I am hoping for the best.

Maybe the State should take the jury out to Suburban Drive and use that little tape measurer and show them where every single little bone of Caylee's was found. The defense is making it sound like Caylee's entire skeleton was found 20 feet from the road when that is not true. Can't wait for the jury to see just how scattered Caylee really was and all because animals had torn that poor baby apart and scattered her![/QUOTE[/I]

Where do you think she put the baby before she put her in the trunk?...playhouse?...She was somewhere until the car started smelling around late June when she texted Amy about the dead animal....I think that was when she dumped her in the woods...

I don't think Caylee was anywhere else before she was placed into the trunk of Casey's car. I think Caylee was placed into that car on June 16th, 2008 after Casey murdered her. The evidence shows that Caylee was in the early stages of decomposition. I do not think Caylee was in the laundry bag at first. I think the laundry bag came into play on June 18th, 2008 when she backed her car into that garage and borrowed the shovel.

I think that Caylee was thrown out into the woods off Suburban Drive on June 18th or 19th. It is obvious to me that Casey's car was smelling terribly by June 24th, when she got into a fight with George. Her text messages prove this too. I think the longer that the smell sat in the car, the worse the smell got. She may have been able to somewhat mask the smell early on... especially after tossing the baby... but it came back more and more as it seeped into the carpet.

She mentioned seeing a "blanket" in the car and said the car was backed in and parked straight.......TL say it was cockeyed. That's about it.

They didn't call when they first smelled the car. Cindy cleaned the car and even went back to work. She didn't call police until she tracked Casey down later that night.

BINGO! Even her own mother and father didn't call the police when they FIRST smelled the smell in the car BUT both thought it smelled like a dead body and who would know better than an ex cop and nurse?

I doubt LA is angry - these accusations are probably just part of the plan to get ICA off. It seems as tho they have all gotten together and made up this dramatic fable that they are play-acting. I no longer believe what any member of that family says, even MP.

I am irritated by the questions about what a great mom ICA was and the "amazing" bond between Caylee and her mother.

First of all, dragging her toddler in and out of various men's beds is not exactly what I would call good mothering.

Secondly, I have worked in this field (children's services) and children who are abused and neglected are frequently EXTRA affectionate and demonstrative towards their abusive parents. They KNOW that to act angry towards the parent, or to not act loving, means more punishment later. And, in reality, like almost all little children, they LOVE their parents, no matter how they've been treated. So it can look - to someone who doesn't really understand child development and child psychologically - as though the abusive parent and child have a "special connection." The child will be running to the mother, being demonstratively affectionate, responding promptly if called, etc.

I'm not saying that ICA WAS abusive (although I do find the "silent" videotaping quite concerning). But the opinions of childless 20-year-olds about ICA's mothering are basically useless.

I also feel like JB is trying to say "these incidents show what a great liar ICA is, and so she was able to lie about her child's accidental death." But if she's such a convincing liar, why should we believe the story she apparently told you?

BINGO! You nailed it, it defys all logic. It also seems obvious Casey doesn't "live" in a fantasy world. She knows that she creates it and delibrately and with her full understanding attempts to force others to be a part of it.

Dr. G's testimony is one I'm very anxious to hear. I'm curious to hear her reasoning on this.

Often the mouth drops open but just as often, it may not. I've seen bodies frozen in rigor with the mouth shut and open. A nurse knows to place a towel under the chin of a deceased patient to keep the jaw from falling open so that their family doesn't have to see them like that. But it doesn't always happen.

I think the point is when someone dies the muscles totally relax and the back of the jaw drops out of the hinge position. You can close the front of the mouth but the back of the jaw is still dropped out of the hinge.

I could swear when they were leaving before lunch she said something to the effect of "when they talk about decomp you need to...." then she turned her head. What a joke they have made of this horrific tragedy. Shameful.

Maybe Caylee was having a tantrum, like two year olds often do, and kc wanted to silenced her and did it out of anger.

ICA can not stop fidgeting with herself, she sweeps hair, adjusts jacket, adjust bra strap, chats, chats, chats, and then does the entire routine all over again.
