JA asks him if he brought a gas can.

GA says it is his experience that often times when people have trouble with cars, it may just need gas, so yes, he brought gas with him.

Sounds very paternal, good for the jury to hear this.

GA was saying he was irritated with the inconvenience of having to go get the car. Among other things...

When GA said he was aggravated by the inconvenience of having to pick up the car ICA went crazy telling Baez something very quickly and animated. Wish I could read lips!

I think this is actually a very good answer. For all he knows the car was left there because it was out of gas.

Oh boy George - here comes the tough stuff - smelled a pretty strong odor from about three feet away. Concerned about it - smelled something like that a number of years ago - I was ...concerned. It is a very distinct odor.
