I'll bet that at this point in time the jury is not surprised to hear that the gas gauge was working properly.
They will most likely be shocked if there is any testimony at all where the defendant told the truth.

Did ICA ever state that the gas gauge was not working. She was irresponsible it sounds like she would allow the car to run out of gas, gauge working or not. She would probably also lie about the gauge working just to avoid embarrasment of running out of gas.

Yeah not very probative to any relevant matter, especially in light of what I imagine the defense case will be (similar to OS). Not sure they really need to dwell on the gas gauge.
