It has not been used for general anesthesia in many decades, the risk of death was too high. There is NO legitimate use for this substance - sedating a child to get her 'out of the way' would be a crime regardless of the drug used.

That's right. OT, but another great book I just finished reading was "The Poisoner's Handbook", by Deborah Blum. Fascinating history of poisons and the development of the first toxicology lab in the U.S. Anyway, she devotes a whole chapter to chloroform. I loved this book, educational and exciting. Sorry OT.

Why doesn't JB just ask, "So you cannot prove who did these searches on the computer, can you?"

Exactly...ask a couple of basic questions that can knockout the testiomy and plant a reasonable doubt in the jurors mind

and then just like the great defense attorney Vincent Gambino from My Cousin Vinny, just walk away and say "I'm finished with this guy"

I just don't understand the defense.... I mean seriously....ICA could actually go for ineffective council!!!

JB is really clueless. I don't know what he is hoping to accomplish with this cross!

Scenario: what if she is opening another "tab" after doing the general search? Wouldn't this explain why there are only seconds in between the two sites? Not sure if the software shows or specifies this?

JB is actually clarifying for the jurors that someone (Casey) did these searches. So if the jurors were zoning out with Mr. Bradley's technical explanation, they now will more readily understand what these computer searches were all about......all involving bodily harm.

Not sure how to phrase this, but JB is so much more animated in this cross than we've seen him before. His tone is different too. Like he thinks he just HAS this witness.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned TABBED browsing on the SA side?? I don't know about you guys but right now I have 6 tabs and am surfing in all of them... access time stamps really don't mean a whole lot.

Jose is doing a great job of specifically drawing out all the incriminating things that ICA searched for on the computer. Way to go dude. :)

Chloroform is a very dangerous substance. Hence why it is no longer used in the medical field and next to impossible to obtain through legal means.

That is why, I don't think she was using it on Caylee since March, because that little girl would have had soars or redness all over her mouth.

I wonder if this witness knew he would have to be good at math when he took the stand ! SHeesh............

3:16:13 cyspot search for chloroform (JB didn't count on this one)
3:16:30 google search for chloroform
witness confused by JB question
3:18 cyspot chemistry chloroform - 2:25
3:19:16 druglibrary.org chloroformhabit.htm 21 sec

Jose's joking and laughing demeanor seems so inappropriate and unprofessional.

You can get it easily from lab supply companies. It's used in DNA extraction (among a lot of other things) in labs to this day.

Well let me rephrase that. It's not something that the general public can go by at home depot. You can get many things from lab supply companies if you have the proper licensing to my knowledge. That and to my knowledge is not used on patients as an anesthesia anymore.

If your scenario is correct, Casey qualifies for the DP. Chloroforming a toddler would be considered child abuse that resulted in death.
Then there is the duct tape that needs to be explained.

IMO

Would chloroform have a cumulative effect? If Casey had been chloroforming Caylee regularly to get her to sleep, would it have been built up in her system enough to cause death even if the final dose wasn't necessarily fatal?
