Is anyone worried that HHJP didn't deny CM's motion right away and that he recessed to review everything? Or is this standard procedure?

How about that Janie Weintraub last night on JVM. O....M...G...that woman makes my skin crawl. She "claims" that she is "close" to the defense, however her facts are always wrong. She stated that the police had pictures of the ladder up at the pool....and JVM so politely (NOT) pointed out to her that those pics were taken 31 days later and had no relevance whatsoever.

Initials "JW" - nuff said.

I just don't get how a defense attorney can twist the facts....to me he is misrepresenting the truth which is what justice if based on...truth of facts and evidence...they say Caylee accidently drowned so wouldn't there be an element of neglect, if that truly happened? Then to go on with life as if this child didn't exist makes me furious to hear how they are misleading this court and those jurors...I just don't like or get defense attornies...how can they distort the truth a get away with it.? JMHO

Justice for Caylee

My oh my oh my. Watching ICA watch LDB as she talks to Mason. The leopard doesn't change its spots. ICA is so freakishly jealous of anyone or anything that draws attention from her. She will put anything in play to redirect that attention back to herself. I can almost hear her "humpf" her eyes glistening as she plots her regrasp of focus. She never engages, she reacts. What a creature.

Bill Shaeffer is saying this will be denied. :gavel: The case will move forward.

I agree. Notable difference in the way His Honor listened to CM and LDB arguments.

Any thoughts on if the DT will provide a defense or not?

It's just a formality. Don't worry. It will be denied! :denied:

Yes, most sexual abuse survivors of father like figures usually wink and flirt even if on trial for murder. (Obviously sarcasm, to be clear if defense team is reading here.)

SICK ________!

At this point, if there WAS any SA...I am wondering just who abused whom?

How difficult is it for HHJP to remain neutral and open to both sides when he is human and knows the law forwards and backwards. He has heard the SA present its case about the murder of a beautiful child? Yesterday at the end of proceedings, after the jury had been excused, he cited three cases for the defense and told them basically to go do their homework with respect to presenting evidence regarding grief and manifestation thereof. Is he tired of the DT’s bull$h*t? Many a time I have seen him sigh or look a little frustrated with the DT.

I wonder what is going on inside his head and what his dreams are like during this trial.

The judge remaining neutral is another one of those myths. A judge must be neutral in the proceedings. He cannot come in with preformed opinions other than the law itself. But actions within the courtroom and before his bench can and will legitimately sway his neutrality.

A judge cannot hold a prior case against CM or JB, but he most certainly can form an opinion and act on that opinion based on direct observations in this case. And the defendants choice of council and their behavior does legitimately reflect on her. That sidebar where he essentially told the DT that he no longer trusts them. That was perfectly allowable. That is a judgement, which is what we expect of a judge.

Guys, am I just seeing things, or did KC wink at CM?

Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee, Caylee....

In other words, HHJP in essence just said:

I've already made up my mind, and am telling you about my study of case law and testimony just so you won't have a basis for your whining and complaining once I shoot down your request for acquittal. Now I am going to take the morning paper into my judicial restroom for 40 minutes or so."

Casey just sat down and lowered her chair 3 or 4 pumps.

Any thoughts on if the DT will provide a defense or not?

They are giving every indication that they really really really don't want to.

It is difficult for me to look at Bill Shaeffer this morning without giggling to myself. Hearing him say "Tot Mom" on NG last night was just toooooooo funny!

I WAS interested in this case 'as it happened' in 2008, but do you know that Nancy Grace and her 'tot mom' screech actually made me think there might be NOTHING to this case? NG is a REAL turn-off. That's why I am SOOOOO happy to have discovered Websleuths and its GORGEOUS moderators. haha

Dutchie,
HHJP has prosecuted DP cases and won. A woman, J Buenano, received the DP and he attended her execution. He also sees ICA's change in demeanor when the jury is out of the room. I doubt if he has any sympathy for ICA ,but he does follow the law to a T,imo.

I don't think the court will rule for an aquittal but I am very interested to see what the defense has to say because:

COD can not be proven or identified. I have to go look at their witness list but do they have a professional that can argue Dr.G's conclusion of MOD? Just curious.

(A few other details too are a little precarious as well in my mind, depending on how the defense manages them)

I don't think that she will walk, it's not that. But she might very well not get a murder conviction. JMHO. I've been thinking this for a week, I tried to distance myself and detach myself from the details that I've got memorized after 3 years and look at it as if I've never seen this before (difficult to do) but I really need to see what the defense is going to say before I can confidently say oh yes she's going to get murder and the DP or LWOP.

All JMHO
