Thx Scout... I knew I couldn't have been that off with the dates. I'm sure I misread Eileen's post.
Come in Jimmy, we are waiting for you!

I am wondering since Jimmy Rodgers is already in Federal custody, if he might be charged with Murder for Hire by the FBI. He crossed State lines to commit the crime which makes it Federal as well as State, I believe.

JMO's

"If state lines were crossed with intent to commit the act whether the traveling was done by the assailant or the victim, federal jurisdiction will be applied. Additionally, if it can be proven that during the commission of the crime there was communication by the mail system or any facility of interstate or foreign commerce as well as the wires (telephone, computer, etc.) in the attempt or completion of the crime this too would be foundation for the federal government to take the lead."

Moran remembers the moment she met Rodgers.
“He seemed too, how do I say this? Too good,” she said. “You know how somebody puts on that real, real front.”
Moran, whose granddaughter stayed with Rodgers at one point, described him as violent.
“She did say…he wasn’t nice,” she said. “I was glad she got away from him.”
Rodgers’ girlfriend, Taylor Shomaker, described him as a perfect, non-violent person who worked 16-hour days to provide for her and her children.
“I thought I completely knew him, was about to marry him,” she said.
As for Rodgers’ nickname, “The Hammer,” Shomaker said his father gave him that name as a child.

Wondering how JRR's father died.

This was posted earlier in this same thread:

It seems to me I recall another archived newspaper article with more detail on his father's death, but I don't have time to search this thread for it. Maybe another member has the same recollection. There's some good discussion in this thread about the inherited guns and theories about how the early death of both of his parents may have impacted him.

I'm concerned that the arrest of MS might hinge on a plea from JR. His brother is presently in law school... so I'd be curious as to what input/guidance (if any) he's
offered JR. (Take the plea/go down with the ship)

With the sunshine laws, on another case I've been following in FL, we've been able to hear every phone call made from prison, every word. I would really be interested in JR/CWW phone conversations.

I was hoping you would stop by, NIN. That's the same one I did find. This one below is the one I can't find. When I search for it, I come up empty. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. And if it's removed from public view, really makes me wonder why.

Kate, that second link, the Missouri inmate locator, I recall posting it when Jimmy Ray Rodgers was arrested back in August. It was not in connection with his father Jackie Lee Rodgers, if that's what you were looking for.

How did we know anymore than what is in the obituary link? I vaguely remember there was more that we found about the circumstances to his death.

When it says that JRR's mother Nancy died from a gunshot wound (gosh the family guns take on a whole new image for me) do we know if it was ruled an accident or suicide?

So, did his father die of an early heart attack?

Yes, I recall too. Let's dig.

This is why I thought it was the mo.gov link:

Holy moly ~ under charges---RES ARST/DETN/STOP-RSK DTH/INJURY.
Does this mean he resisted arrest by not stopping his vehicle, that could have caused an death injury? In other words, car chase?

Kate,

all I could find is this WS post #678:

Jimmy's father was a crook when JR was a young lad. His dad was driving at an alarming rate of speed in an attempt to outrun the police who were chasing him. He died in a fatal car accident as a result. JRs father had a large cache of weapons. These are the same weapons that JR possessed when he was released from jail. JR could have owned more weapons than those belonging to his father. Upon a subsequent LEO visit to his home, the numerous weapons were discovered; hence, JR went to prison for weapons' possession by a felon.
