Maybe this too simplistic, but maybe MS is so into himself that he's figuring that if he pleads guilty, he's staying put. Since that's a given, if he pleads innocent he can somehow get off, perhaps with a goofy jury member or some technicality and still get the 4 mil while his buddy(s) sit. Maybe he's just going all-in. Just a thought going through my feeble brain as I'm still on my first morning coffee.

In my opinion MS pled not guilty because he had nothing to personally gain by pleading guilty.

I agree. To hell with what is in the best interest of the daughters he supposedly put first in his life. IMO a guilty plea would have been much easier on all of Teresa's loved ones.

I have followed enough cases to know that the 1st plea is typically always "not guilty." It just gives his new attorney time to read all the evidence they have against him. And there is a lot. Not even counting what hasn't even been released yet.

With CWW hand feeding LE all of the missing pieces of the puzzle, Marks going down regardless of how he pleads. Even his own friend of 30 years (CK) who knew NONE of the evidence LE already had was convinced he had something to do with his wife's murder. I'm sure Mark never saw that one coming. CWW will be able to fill in all of the information LE needs, for example what was said on the burner phones, the 100 dollar bills used in Florida from the "gift" that Mark sent and wanted to make sure it didn't fall out of the card. We know for a fact that CWW didn't even have enough money to buy groceries, and all of the sudden he and JR both have 100 bills they used paying for items that were CAPTURED on surveillance. I personally don't think he will take this to trial simply because of CWW rolling on him. However I don't think he will EVER admit to this murder, but plead no contest instead. But then again he is a narcissistic psychopath, so he may think he can pull it off. JMO

Mark is very similar to Scott Peterson who murdered his pregnant wife Laci. I can see MS taking this far to the end. He's not paying for his lawyer so he can drag this on. He wants to be in the spotlight and be a stud in his own eyes. Makes me gag to think he views himself as a woman's gift.

As always......"Right on Sister!!" :loveyou:

I figured he'd plead NG for the simple reason he's a narcissistic psychopath that uses people for their own greed, only thinks of himself and always blames others for their actions. (SP too)

IMO - He only cares about himself (obvious by his actions) and he doesn't care what a trial could do to his daughters, his own mother and TS's family. He also thinks "Look at Me - my 15 minutes of fame!!"...and..that in some crazy way, he can get out of this and still collect that 4.43 million.

I bet the women that were somehow involved with him (fun, sex, or whatever) are now thinking "Marky Mark" isn't such a woman's gift after all.

He makes me want to do more then gag...lol.

:justice: for TS!!!!

I agree but only if the DA goes for the DP. If LWOP, what's he got to lose? He would go down either way. Part of me thinks he deserves it; DA goes for DP so he will plead guilty/no contest just in case there is a funky jury who thinks CWW is selling him out just so he can get his 25 and out.
If they go for LWOP, I think he will take it to trial.
In reality, I think the DP should be reserved for the worst of the worst. IMO, he falls into that category.

Well said sister :happydance:

I tend to think his "other women" might get turned on with all of this publicity. I'm not convinced they are scared of him. I think some of them knew what was going on. I figured we would have documents concerning them by now , but we haven't.

Ya, I'm sure MS is looking forward to all the media coverage.....Dateline, 48 Hours, etc......he'll be downright basking in the glow. And think of all the jailhouse groupies who fawn over convicted killers.....he's probably been deluged with fan mail already.

ETA: Just saw your post Dale....lol

Probably. Think- Casey Anthony. Ugh!

That is ehat I was afraid of...maybe his attorney will make him tow the line?! That is wishful thinking. I hope he cannot get out on bail.

Does a Grand Jury always meet in a murder case or just if it is a death penlty? Wondering if one is meeting for MS? Is there anyway to tell?

No way to tell- they are secret but my best guess is yes, a Grand Jury will hear this case. I think this GJ's tenure is up in June- so as late as July we could hear something. Hopefully AZ or Creepingskills will comment on this.

You're right, Dmacky. Just hoping TS's family will be spared the additional horrors of a trial. In light of the evidence, I don't see how his defense could be a denial of the fact he orchestrated his wife's murder. Seems to me if they take Not Guilty all the way to trial, he would have to claim some sort of abuse? The thought of Teresa's family being subjected to the horrors of trial that Travis Alexander's family (as a recent example) endured makes my stomach turn. BUT as you so rightly stated, not guilty as the 1st plea is typical. It's much too soon to be concerned about all the other at this point.

Thanks, Dmacky. I always enjoy your well thought out views and comments.

Wait I'm confused (really?). I thought his arraignment was March 28. Isn't the arraignment when they formally charge defendants? Can they still come back later and up the charge? I guess so- I just didn't realize it, trial newbie that I am. That's why I was asking in another post about the March 28 arraignment and Grand Jury. I was kinda freaking out! Lol

A defendant can only be charged with 1st degree murder with a grand jury indictment, regardless of whether or not the prosecutor is going to seek the death penalty or not.

There's no way to tell when the State presents the case to the grand jury. The public only finds out afterwards when they either return or decline the indictment.

Mrs Ark- Mark's arraignment has been moved to April 18th- BTW- just wanted to let you know.

"Mark Sievers filed for indigency March 17, saying he had $5,000 in bank accounts, but no income. His three vehicles were estimated to be worth $14,000 and he said he had liabilities and debts totaling $200,000."

Wow.
He's got 5,000 in the bank. But what about the 40,000+ that was in his house? Did he give that to his mom to keep for him?
I think that's a stretch lie. What year is the Mercedes?
