He pulled into the intersection, blocked traffic, and made a left on red.I really don't understand what he did to be pulled over.
I don't know how much lE shared with them, probably quite a lot.Would a state agency be able to expel someone for being a suspect before s/he was found guilty? I don't think so. I am familiar with state agencies like universities that place faculty and staff on administrative
Over the last two days, every time I do this while I am out driving, I wonder if it is legal. I've driven that way for years and never doubted it was legal, but now I realize I don't know. I need to check our state laws, or stop by the local police department and ask them, or give them a call. It would be good to know.In Washington state its illegal to pull torward into the intersection to wait to turn left.
I agree, but they would have to do so within the confines of the law. Especially as a state agency.I don't know how much lE shared with them, probably quite a lot.
First duty is to protect their remaining students, I imagine
And of course their reputation.
I'm speculating because I don't know how it went down.
I checked California and it's legal here to enter the intersection while waiting to make a left hand turn. If the light turns red while waiting it's okay.Over the last two days, every time I do this while I am out driving, I wonder if it is legal. Good to know!I checked California and it's legal here to enter the intersection while waiting to make a left hand turn. If the light turns red while waiting it's okay.
So it depends on the State. JMO.

RSBMForgive me for intervening. I just want to say that I think there might be a bit of a misunderstanding here and just seems so unnecessary. IMO, posts sometimes have a number of different issues combined and so much comes down to clarity and addressing one issue at a time I think. I think the stuff about the warrants - you know posters looking at them and theorising about what they mean, the PC for this or that one, the redactions and so forth, is a separate issue to the discussion about discovery. Somehow, these two topics have got conflated here? Maybe?
The OP may have been talking about both when addressing their original post to SGH.
The prosecution ofcourse should be looking to hand over possible exculpatory evidence to defense in discovery, only that's not to do with the warrants and a poster's opinion that prosecutors were looking at everything when they applied for all those warrants we see half redacted etc. MOO.
MOO I think you are mistaken, it is not okay if the light turns red. It's only okay if you wait in the intersection and make it through before the light changes. If you blocked the intersection no matter how briefly, you violated the right of way of the vehicles that had a green light. This causes gridlock.I checked California and it's legal here to enter the intersection while waiting to make a left hand turn. If the light turns red while waiting it's okay.

I agree.
KB overestimated his ability and knowledge of what he set out to do.
This is a man who makes three initial passes by the 1122 King Road residence and then leaves. We've all read the AA this rsidential neighborhood has very limited number of vehicles that travel in the area during
the early morning hours.
KB comes back and can be seen entering the area a fourth time about 4:04 am.
He can be seen driving, turning around and then driving back on King Road. Then of all things he unsuccessfully attempted to turn around in the road......After which he's next seen departing the area of the King Road Residence at 4:20 am at a high rate of speed.
Now let's throw in turning off his phone, using airplane mode and cell pings...
Yeah, Dunning Kruger vibes is right on target.

All that unfolded was his knife, he had every intention of killing , there is no way that was a PlanB.Also he wasn't to know how many Ring Doorbells or Nest cameras or gate / garage / fence perimeter security cameras he was hitting, as well as car dashcams or vehicle motion sensored security cameras. Had he really scrutinised the frontage of every single home and checked every single vehicle? Of course not. So he was doing something very high risk and seemingly reckless. Unless he never intended to kill anyone that night and something unfolded.

Then why enter in disguise, late at night with a very deadly knife? Not a Swiss pocket knife, not a short every day keep in your pocket kind of knife, but a knife almost 12 inches in overall length with a blade over 6 inches? Also he wasn't to know how many Ring Doorbells or Nest cameras or gate / garage / fence perimeter security cameras he was hitting, as well as car dashcams or vehicle motion sensored security cameras. This part I totally agree with.I don't know if I would perceive him as sharp. If I didn't know he was charged with quadruple homicide, I would think he's a saddo who has gone beyond trying to evade a traffic violation ticket and was into the territory of trying to conversationally / time hijack the officer.
Sometimes people do that because they're so lonely they don't have any other way of engaging people. Sometimes they do it because they're not neurotypical and they get 'stuck' in questioning mode. Sometimes they do it because they find the other person attractive and hope to prolong the conversation. Many reasons.
Sociopaths and narcissists do it to test how long they can force you to engage with them before you assert a boundary.

It's illegal in my state, the intersection must be clear.I checked California and it's legal here to enter the intersection while waiting to make a left hand turn. If the light turns red while waiting it's okay.

Same! I think it's illegal in my state, mainly because I have my mother's voice in my head telling me not to block intersections! I was in a neighboring state yesterday. While stopped at a light waiting to turn right, I noticed a car with the green light wasn't moving. When I looked further, I noticed that she would not have been able to clear the intersection had she moved forward. I'm not sure how I feel about the fact that this case immediately popped into my head when I noticed that!Over the last two days, every time I do this while I am out driving, I wonder if it is legal. I was just getting ready to type the same thing. All that unfolded was his knife, he had every intention of killing , there is no way that was a PlanB.
