The shoeprint would be nice to match, but, there's also his cellphone, his vehicle, him being seen at the home by D., and the DNA profile he left behind. I don't think the shoeprint will damage their case if they cannot match it to belonging to BK. The info in the PCA is only what they have to release to get the warrant to arrest BK. With what we've been provided, I feel their case against him is strong and they have additional evidence to strengthen the case even further.
June 2022, BK completed his graduate studies. According to DeSales University Associate Vice President Carolyn Steigleman, BK holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the school. He completed undergraduate in 2020 and graduate studies in June 2022.
June 26, 2022 was a Sunday. IIRC, his father drove out with him and then flew back to Penn. for that trip.
August 21, 2022 ~ BK's first known drive past the student's home
August 22, 2022 ~According to the WSU Registrar site, classes started at Pullman on this date.
Between June 26 and Nov 13, 2022, his phone is tracked near the home 11 more times.
November 13, 2022. ~ The murders occurred. At around 4:20 a.m., the vehicle, determined to be a Hyundai Elantra, was seen on surveillance footage leaving the students' home "at a high rate of speed," according to the affidavit.
November 18, 2022 - The Elantra's plates have been changed to Washington from Pennsylvania
November 21, 2022 BK turns 28 years old.
BK's Dad flies to Pullman, and BK and his father leave Pullman in mid-December (guestimate of Dec. 11th or 12th)
Dec 15, 2022, at 10:41 a.m., the two were stopped by LE, for the first time near Hancock, Indiana, and a few minutes later, were stopped again. They would have approximately nine more hours of driving, to Effort PA. If they drove 12 hours per day, then that might place them leaving BK's Washington State apt., around December 12th.
Dec 16, 2022 approx 2:26 p.m. BK's Elantra is spotted in Albrightsville. He and his father got the white Elantra serviced. (This leads me to believe he was still thinking about driving back out, to start classes on Jan 9th, 2023).
December 27th, 2022; BK's father's DNA profile, obtained from the trash at their home, matched to BK's DNA that was left on the knife sheath, at the murder scene. The PCA states "identified a male as not being excluded as the biological father of the Suspect Profile," and that 99.9998% would be expected to be excluded as BK's father. So there's almost no dismissing that, BK's father is the same father of the person who left DNA at the murder scene (BK). ( Sources of DNA include blood, hair, semen, saliva, bone and tissue. A probability over 99% means there is relatively no chance any other man, other than the tested man is the father. There will never be a 100% stat though.) Because blood is pretty visible and was likely all over the sheath, I think BK's DNA was probably left by touch, and found by swabbing the snap.
December 30, 2022; BK was then arrested after being tracked for four days by the Penn. Field Office.
