I can only go by this.

Chapin's mom says anything he had is now 'frozen with the defense.' For them, that includes two cars, his personal belongings and a 'nice set of golf clubs.'

Yet Dec 6 LE releases household items back to the other families. My timeline gets wonky there. Maybe it's the uneven reporting we've noticed.

Few thoughts (MOO).....I don't read the word "all" personal items in any story. It's possible that the police can give back the box of Cheerios in the kitchen cabinet and withhold more personal items for further investigation. IMO the release is likely staggered.

Some items they'll never get back.

That is absolutely possible, Auntie. I just think the simplest explanation is that--with agents swarming all over the house--BK wondered aloud what was happening to other members of his family. The question "Who else...?" doesn't speak to anyone's actual guilt, just to what LE was thinking and doing on that night.

It wouldn't be the first time that cohabitants were swept up in a police action (and later released). Heck, we've had a famous case or two in recent years when cohabitants were killed as "collateral damage" to an arrest.
That's exactly what I think he meant. I don't think he was trying to throw off LE by suggesting there was someone else involved. Rather, I think he was referring to his parents, for one of two reasons:
1) Trying to feign innocence -- that he has no reason why he was arrested. If you're truly confused as to why you're being arrested, it's a pretty natural question actually when they raid your home with others present.
2) Guilt over what he got his parents into and trying to figure out the extent of the trauma.

Schools have to respond to subpoenas. They can try to fight them (but rarely do).

IMO
But they don't have to respond to reporters. That's what surprised me. While she did mention FERPA, the guidance counselor said more than I would have expected.

Speaks more to what BK was thinking and doing in the wee hours of that morning.

There is absolutely no evidence in BK's statement about what LE was thinking - just what he was thinking.

I don't think LE were after BK's parents at all, but wished instead to remove them from the house while the search went down (normal) and BK was likely confused by his inability to speak to his parents or even to know, initially, where they were. He knew that their house had been damaged, IMO.

Whether or not he told his parents anything, he must have been worried that his parents would be perceived as involved.

IMO.

That's what *I* said, 10ofRods! BK's question reflected BK's concern as to what LE might be thinking/doing. That's the simplest explanation, as you and I both already wrote.

I don't know how this got so garbled. Nobody accused the father of complicity. Nobody knows what LE were thinking.

Is that what Entin says? Killer-groupies? But BK has not been trialed yet nor found guilty.
I consider the word killer premature. BK is merely the accused.

My thoughts exactly. :)

MOO the groupies think he is a killer.
Ethan Crumbley (Oxford High shooter) Complained to the court that his fan mail was being kept from him. He knew there would be fans and girls.

Thanks for pointing this out:

"criminology is the study of crime and criminal behavior, non-legal"

BK didn't study law per se, he studied the criminal mind and motivation and investigating crimes etc... His reddit survey delved into the criminal mind and motivation.

He wasn't necessarily well versed in the legal aspects of being arrested and court procedure.

I remember reading he did answer questions until he was specifically questioned about the murders, then he knew enough to stop talking. He was read his Miranda rights at time of his arrest according to an article so he knew his right to counsel.

But he had never studied criminology until he came to WSU - so basically, one semester (and no way of knowing if he was taking Crim-Justice or Criminology classes in his first semester.

He has a degree in Crim-J from DeSales, not Criminology. And a bachelor's in psych (which should have included one course in Abnormal Psych - but that's not criminology).

His professor (Snyder) is a specialist in legal procedure and the 101 class he was TA-ing focused on procedure, not psychology,

IMO.

I was quoting another post and my whole point was that he did not specialize in law. He studied under a serial killer expert which is interesting.

Agree. But that shows BKs direction at the moment.
His DNA has no business in that house.
His sheath DNA has no business on a bed in the house. Period.

Terrible handwriting. Anyone have any idea what #9 might say? I'm drawing a blank.

Also, I find it interesting that they took a pair of Nike's, yet there was a "Van's-type" print in the house. Hmmm....

Buccal swab?

It is a kind of test kit for genetic testing.
