It's an epidemic all over the USA and getting worse.

Agreed. But do most people flaunt their cash while letting their homes go into foreclosure?

For example, Brad has an office in probably the most expensive high-rise in downtown Orlando.

Instead of moving his office to a much less expensive place, he lets his condo go into foreclosure.

I have a hard time respecting people who game the system for their own benefit.

With all do respect to your post of SSDI, they don't just hand it out. You must first apply in writing and wait for you denied decision. Yes, all applications are denied unless you are blind. You then must get an attorney to file for you. It takes 2 years minimum to get a judge to hear your case. Then you have to meet medical requirements to be eligible for SSDI. I don't know how they were making ends meet if they didn't have workman's comp, unemployment or donations. I can tell you, it wasn't SSDI IMO.

I live in NYC and personally know 4 people who obtained SSDI and I think fairly easily. Two had heart attacks, one claimed a bad back (his wife, my good friend, even was furious that he wouldn't work and said he was full of chit) and a cousin who claimed OCPD. From knowing the individuals personally I can say that there was not one amongst them who I would consider even marginally disabled. I don't know how they did it, but they did and collected checks for years -1 for 10 years and the others for 20 years.

For some reason I think there is a catch to all of this. Not sure why I dont' trust the Anthony's but that's just me I guess. Anyway, as everybody else has said, you don't go that long without making a house payment and then act shocked that the bank is foreclosing. Please!!!! I would have been concerned about foreclosure after 3 months. I'm thinking that if they can show their house was foreclosed, they have on assets, they have no money in the bank, etc., then they will be eligible for some sort of state assistance. They've probably been squirreling the house payments back in a shoe box all this time and have plenty of spending money but want it to look like they're destitute on paper because of the benefits that can be gained without having to lift a finger to work. Of course, there is a sad side and that is that Casey caused all of this and it is not going to affect her. I'm sure she doesn't care and if she did, she would never see it as being her fault anyway. I bet C&G were counting on a book or movie deal too. Like they say, don't count your chickens before they hatch. And I hope Caylee follows them all wherever they go and haunts them until the day they die, especially her momster.

Wonder what Nasty Grace will have to say about this turn of events tonight?

Muzikman, you ROCK!!!!!

Decisions are indeed made on a case by case basis in the mortgage industry, and I do imagine the person whose desk this file was on....may not be as empathetic to them as to someone else really honestly trying to get caught up.

Lee moved out is the most important tidbit in this entire matter to me. I am still holding out hope that Lee's absence in every single court hearing speaks volumes and even that the recent info LE was given was from him.

At some point, if he hasn't already...I think he will empty the bucket; because, he is resigned to Casey's fate, he sees his folks wasting away trying to live this lie and sees that this must all end, for everyone's sake.

I wouldn't be shocked if they claim the "mortage fairy" forgot to pay the bank for 9 months, and they are still waiting for the mother of the year to be found innocent and ride out of that jail on the back of a sparkly flying unicorn.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if Cindy is on the phone with the bank, telling them how evil they are for foreclosing on a 'grieving' grandmother. I foresee Cindy refusing to move lol...

I've been trying, but I can't follow the logic in that. We've seen celebrities, for example, with phenomenal incomes, who blew it all, and didn't pay their bills.

All the foreclosure proves is that they didn't pay their mortage for a significant length of time - not that they couldn't. A foreclosure doesn't prove that they didn't have income. :waitasec:

Conway is a lawyer. He could have worked for clients that actually paid him and been able to make his mortgage payments, no?

Yes, can one of our local members please check the MLS and see if the house is indeed listed for sale? Someone was joking earlier about maybe LP could buy it. That would not surprise me since he said he has bought mom and pop Croslin a car, is going to get his brother to employ them in his sheet rock or drywall company and relocate them all to Cali.

You just can't make this stuff up!
BBM.. I know this is OT but that is gross....:puke: He makes me sick.

Lee has moved out has he? Interesting. The way they always refer to Mallory as Lee's almost fiance baffles me. They were calling her that 1 1/2 years ago. I wonder if they're still together or if Lee even lives in the area still.

Phew...made it through the thread...now I have to ask...why is HLN reporting they owe $250,000 on the house?

I am sorry to contradict you but if you meet medical criteria, and lots do, you get approved and there is no need for legal representation. The older you are and/or the more chronic/complex your illnesses are the easier it is to get approved.

Maybe they have more than one loan against the house, taken out when they had some equity in it?

*5 PM NEWS FLASH*

According to Fox 35, Brad Conway also has a downtown condo being foreclosed on this month. He would not comment on it.

Must be catching, hmmmm?

According to Kathi B on WFTV, Lee has moved out, she did not know when though.

She also interviewed a neighbor, who was a little PO'd because the Anthony's escapades have made property values drop in the neighborhood. He does not feel sorry for them because of that, and because of them going on a cruise while not making payments.

Time to stop doing Pro Bono work for the publicity and get some paid work?

I have always found the Mallory/Lee connection very odd. I wonder if this is not another A family cover-up........

Which is what I suspected when the story broke...so did that money go to Baez? If it's true...that they pulled out more money...their mortgage payment is higher than what's been reported.

So the question i have is:

If the bank finds out about the infamous cruise, tattoos and earrings paid for while NOT making house payments, could that affect how they deal with this particular case?

Could they refuse to deal with the Anthony's, since they have very publicly shown that they don't care about making house payments even when they had the means to do so?

If I were a banker, I would not take a risk on them ever again.

If they are going to deal with them, the Anthony's have to submit a full financial package anyway. So, their case should be decided on the merits of their income to debt ratio.

They note is secured by the house, so the lender is covered for the most part. They can't get the Anthony's in trouble for taking a cruise or anything like that. It was one of the risks they weighed when they accepted them as a credit risk and gave them money for a home. They calculated based on the numbers whether they were a good risk or not.

Anyone notice the irony that the Anthonys who are too 'disabled' to work are represented by an Attorney that could easily get SSI Disability for his paralysis- and even though it is obviously very difficult and at times exhausting for him to do so, chooses to work for his living.

So we shouldn't be surprised when she files for indigent status tomorrow?

Exactly my thoughts, why pay attorneys when the tax payers can do it for you, I'm sure Baez and his dream team are tired of working for next to nothing, now will they bill the State of Florida for their services?

IMO

I'm sorry, but that is not true at all. I applied for SSDI and was approved in about 5 months, no problems. And I'm not blind.

My son applied for SSDI and was approved in about 7 months. He's not blind either.

Neither of us was denied. Neither of us used an attorney. Neither of us did anything special. Just filled out the paperwork.

We each have very real and very serious conditions that are permanently and completely disabling. Therein may lie the problem for the Anthonys and SSDI.

Gives new meaning to the word "handicapped".

Casey was handicapped...Cindy and George are proving to be handicapped...but BC...nope...nothing is getting in his way.
