I guess Cindy never heard the old saying "you should never quit a job until you have another". She was on medical leave from Gentiva and should have listened to Shirley who advised her to go back to work. As for George, he had a very sketchy work history so I don't think he killed himself trying to find work. I wonder why Lee left now. Probably because his salary could have paid the mortgage. IMO they want to see if they can get some checks in the mail like they did when Caylee first went missing. There was no good reason for them to get in this financial bind.

In that case why have they not paid a dime in 9 months, do they really think they can just live for free? Many of us have lost loved ones but that doesn't entitle us to a free ride. If we find out it does sign me up.

No kidding! These people are quite the enigma, aren't they?

  • #403
Free ride is a bit misleading. They will either get the blessing of the bank to forgive some of their debt OR they will have to make unpaid payments over a period of time until it is satisfied.
Many people stop making payments just to get the banks attention. Often times they will not even discuss loan mod until you are late. The foreclosure process is a long road and many feel if they are going to lose the property anyway, why would they make payments? that would be like flushing money down the toilet.

I am sorry but from what we have seen I tend to believe they are hoping that someone will help them out of this terrible "injustice". If They can't get work as they are stating per BC then how can they ever make ends meet? According to GA they have no intentions of moving out or "losing" the house.

See what I am saying?

Yes I understand better what you mean now.

From WESH
"We're working with the bank to save the house," the Anthonys' attorney, Brad Conway, said. "This is the only house Caylee ever lived in and they can't let this thing go."

The process should take between eight months and a year, and the family expects to live in the house the entire time they are working with the bank to pursue a loan modification to fix the problem.

I am sorry,if this has been brought up before, but I was at work, and could not post, will catch up soon. But I do not believe for one minute that this is a surprise,I believe this to be a carefully thought out and planned event--1. The defense is broke-maybe 2.The witness list for the civil case, means that case is coming to trial.3.The obvious spending of monies for cruises, etc.,maybe even a book deal.I WILL NOT BELIEVE that these people did not know that they were behind on mortgage payment.Sometimes when faced with pending litigation,and/or bankrupcy, people have been known to place their "assets" in a safe place. And who knows, what bleeding heart may come to their rescue!!!!

How do you not know that you haven't made a house payment in almost 9 months?

The same way you don't know your daughter is pregnant for seven months.

Here's a thought...

Seems we discussed a long time ago, the possibility that GA/CA bought this house by assuming one of the old VA Assumable loans since they purchased this house immediately after filing bankruptcy..

So IF they did just simply assume a VA mortgage (believe it was back in late 80s, early 90s when these loans were all over the place..), and there is no equity in the house (from what we learned?), they will not be losing ANYTHING by letting the house go back to BOA.

The foreclosure will go against the original loan holder.

seems entirely possible. They do have a lawyer on hand all the time. I am sure they took advise on how to survive this eternal hell.

One other thing--to GA and CA,why are you letting us know now,and not six months ago"-Guess time frames ie 31 days etc are not a great family strength!!!

Casey Anthony: George vows to stay in home despite foreclosure

“We’re not going anywhere,” George Anthony told WESH-Channel 2 about the foreclosure on his home.
Anthony didn’t appear on camera, but he talked to WESH’s Bob Kealing.
“They plan to work with the bank to get through this financial crisis,” Kealing reported.<snipped>

I just posted this up in the daily news, if you read the entire article it states they have no intentions of moving.

Thanks WA,I thought I missed information about the Anthony's having listed their home for sale.

It's just plain wrong to use Caylee's name in the house foreclosure situation. They are using Caylee again to receive public sympathy when they've been protecting her killer since day 31. We know they've profited from her death. BC admitted it a while back. If I remember correctly it was $20,000. I also believe they've made more money via licensing fees during their numerous interviews. I don't believe for one second they haven't made any money off of their 'foundation' either. Unfortunately some people send cash to charities which leaves no paper trail/no accountability. George even mentioned his new career plan to Casey in one of their jail house chats. And remember the money jars for donations?

Cindy has been on disability. Possibly George too. Lee moved in for a while to help with the mortgage. Come on, a mortgage less than $800 is about as cheap as you can get.

We've all seen the cruise pics, tat pics, GA's ear bling, Cindy's makeover which requires maintenance, deposits to Casey's commissary account...this all costs money but yet they didn't send a house payment. In the words of NG, BS. The As didn't seem concerned over saving the only house Caylee lived in while they were laying around on lounge chairs during the cruise.

They had no equity in the home so why not let it go into foreclosure and live there rent free for what looks like many many months, if not years. That's what I call scamming the system.

Something smells like a rat in the A home. I think they have money but they're hiding it to avoid any payouts for possible law suits down the road. Maybe one from ZG, Amy, RM, RK, JG, etc. There's a long list of people who could possibly sue for defamation of character against CA/GA. OJ was successful at hiding his assets. Maybe CA/GA are taking a page out of his book.

Maybe donations are low so they need a new media blitz.

Bottom line...I believe they had/have the money to pay their mortgage but chose not to.

JMHO

And how do you not wonder why you're getting all these letters in the mail from the mortgage lender, as well as numerous phone calls at all hours of the day and night (even on Sundays)??? :waitasec:

I really don't think they have too much to worry about. After all, I don't see too many buyers who would be jumping to move into (what I believe is) a crime scene, even at a foreclosure price. MOO

If we rely on the letters and calls, then they could claim that they stopped looking at their mail or answering their phone because they were recieving so many harrassing letters and calls.

Besides, generally you don't need a letter or a call to know when you're behind on a payment.

Just when I thought they couldn't go any lower...

You know, I'd have sympathy for them if they were working hard, doing anything to make ends meet, and NOT depending on other people to bail them out, but they AREN'T.

I had the misfortune of having two roommates with their same attitude. Oh, they had everything IMPORTANT to them paid off and just fine, but house bills and rent? That was last on their list. They both lived way above their means and horribly misused disability (one had problem with her hip and the other was severely obese) to get what they wanted without care of who it affected around them, mostly ME. That it happened to me twice makes me want to KICK myself in retrospect. I also made some bad financial decisions myself, and though I have a much better life now, I'm still struggling to pay off my debts. But you know what? I'm not asking for handouts, and not begging mom and dad or the government to help me out; I'm doing it MYSELF because it's MY RESPONSIBILITY.

I don't think "responsibility" is in the A's vocabulary. I absolutely ABHOR people who think they can get through life on someone else's dime. The fact that A's decided not to try and work this out themselves first but immediately open their tan, perfecty healthy because they haven't seen a day of work in two years palms to a public that isn't going to give them two pennies much less the thousands they need to get out of this mess is just DISGUSTING in my opinion. Add to that simulataneously stomping Caylee's memory while claiming to want to hold out on to it as the reason for their problems in the first place is just...words cannot express how LIVID it makes me.

Last time I checked, a two year old doesn't contribute one iota to a household financially. But a twenty something, ADULT daughter? SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN CONTRIBUTING AND WASN'T. You want to blame someone for where you are? BLAME CASEY NOT CAYLEE. Blame YOURSELVES for horrible spending habits that have never improved one BIT.

Even if there is good reason for this, YOU ARE STILL TRYING TO AVOID RESPONSIBILITY LIKE ALWAYS! Don't whine about not having money to pay the mortgage, making your house go into foreclosure (so BS that it's a surprise, btw, how STUPID do you think the public is?) when you don't look and feel exhausted, don't wear worn clothes because you can't afford to buy yourself new clothes, don't own a car that you PRAY doesn't break down or a major appliance doesn't go out in your house because there's no money to fix it, don't worry about when to have a baby in the first place because you KNOW you can't afford one right now, don't worry if you have kids and how you're going to put food in their mouths and clothes on their backs, don't pray for a good tax return to MAYBE pay down some debts if you're lucky, and don't have hands that show actual SIGNS of being used for anything other than getting a tan and being covered in jewelry, don't have a major life threatening disease or disability and STILL be expected to make ends meet, and I could go ON and ON and ON.

The A's have NO IDEA what it means to be a law abiding citizens who work everyday to just to live from day to day. They think they are special and should be rewarded for it without having to lift to a finger, and keeping using their MURDERED grandchild to do that any which way they can.

And I don't give that CRAP that they can't find a job. You know what? You churn out resumes until your fingers bleed, hit the streets until your feet bleed and don't stop until you GET A JOB. That's what people who are responsible DO, no matter what life throws at them!

Gee, I WISH I could just not work and not pay my bills and STILL manage to make my way in the world. I don't care what their motivation is, and I have no sympathy for them WHATSOEVER.

Would it be ironic if George had to get a job a pizza place to pay the bills? Or work for a garbage company? That would make me outright LAUGH. And my mother tried to convince me to go into nursing because so many jobs are available, so Cindy is full of it too. And I don't see her using food stamps or unemployment to survive...no, that's so beneath her!

And I just know something's happen soon because when they open their mouths, it's usually a pre-emptive strike at something that happens just a few days later... these people are unbelievable SCUM and deserve everything that's coming their way. I can't wait to hear the jail door slam shut on them BOTH.

I do admire your positive thinking, and it's not at all a bad thought, but . . . .

How were they getting her the best lawyers when they were going on their cruise? I'm sure JB would have appreciated some of what they paid for tickets! What about the tattoes? How much creature-comforts could KC have purchased from the commisary with what they paid for those?

We're going to Disneyland!!!
No Thanks! :hand:California doesn't want them! :nono:You can keep them and they can go to DisneyWorld, it's local, they won't have to pay for travel!
