'You, sir, are a monster,' judge tells Rafferty at sentencing

“You sir are a monster,” he told the sniffling 31-year-old killer, convicted Friday night of first-degree murder, sexual assault causing bodily harm and abduction.

“You have snuffed out the life of a beautiful, talented, vivacious little girl. a ‘tomboy diva’ in the trustful innocence of childhood.

“And for what? So that you could gratify your twisted and deviant desire to have sex with a child. Only a monster could commit such an act of pure evil.”

I have to wonder if it can/will be reported as to where he will be incarcerated.

I'm sure it will, they might keep it quiet for today for safety but I am sure it will be reported. If not, I'll find out. muhahaha

When something that has consumed a person for the last 3 years comes to an end...how does one move forward?! That is what I have been wondering today both for myself but especially for Tori's family.

What Rafferty said in court

I wanted to come to this courtroom defending myself. And after hearing the victim impact statements, I think there is something more important to say. To Tara McDonald, for the past three years I've had so much to say on my behalf. Nobody has all the pieces of the puzzle and I'm willing to give you those pieces if you'd like that.

I know this has been a long ordeal for everybody and I'm glad that it's come to an end. Hopefully everybody will find some closure of some sort to me being sentenced to life.

Michael Rafferty

Snipped ... because most of it is a load of crap.

BBM

Liar, if he was that concerned about how long this ordeal was, he shouldn't be looking to appeal his conviction. That's why I think it is a load of crap.

I can't believe he continues to torment the family with his statements about 'puzzle pieces'.

Yes there have been negative comments because it was a ridiculous ruling. At least the jury was a decent one.

Eff Rafferty for saying he is not guilty. Whatever. No one cares what you think. Off to prison with you.

Victoria was 8. 25 years in sentencing (including the 10 year insult of a sentence for kidnapping and sexual assault).
Victoria should have been in her early 30s when he might be paroled?!? That is NOT a life sentence.

Does the 10 year sentence run after the 25 year sentence or alongside it (concurrently).

I think it's going to be a very long road for Tori's family, my heart goes out to all of them. As for all of us, we can help Rodney in his wish for more awareness and the fight for harsher sentences for pedophiles and child murderers. IMO there needs to be a bigger fight for better treatment for mental illness as well. Having gone through that with a child of mine I know that resources for troubled kids are sadly lacking and those troubled kids grow up to be troubled adults. Not that I think you can do anything for a pedophile, I think it's been proven time and time again that you can't change them, although maybe with better mental health awareness we can start to find out when they are younger that there are issues.

i agree bravo. but all along he's played that "no one knows the real story" game. It's always been his way of trying to instill some level of doubt into what happened so that he can continue to manipulate the real truth getting out. and he played it to perfection with his mother it appears as she stood on the courthouse steps a week ago and said that her son is innocent and that tlm ruined their lives. I'm sure he played it with anyone else who may have been visiting and supporting him over the past three years. But you can bet he's never told a sole the "real story", just alluded to the possibility that there was something more than the obvious. He also played it with tara today because she even questions whether she'll ever know the whole truth in her impact statement. So he saw someone who was still wavering and took the opportunity to pounce on it.

I think the jury saw through the bs and figured out the "real story", even without the aid of his incriminating laptop. But he's always going to maintain that there is more to it and that he is not guilty. It's all smoke and mirrors and i think the whole truth about what happened and why came out in that courtroom. There is nothing more to tell imo. He did this, with the help of a disturbed teenager that he manipulated into helping him and that's all there is to it. That is the real story.

All of his sentences are concurrent, that's why he is eligible for parole in 22 years.

So confirmation from himself he has a son...he has lost a child, and he admits to guilt on some level.

Rafferty's still lying...the child that was "lost" was from the woman who gave him close to 17 thousand dollars escorting.

Still trying to get people to feel sorry--------for him
bye bye Rafferty:jail:

Tori's school family asks for privacy

The Thames Valley District School Board has issued a second request to the media to leave alone the school family of Tori Stafford.
“Tori’s loss was a traumatic event for the entire community,” said Superintendent Mary Ellen Smith in a press release. “But it was particularly distressing for students and staff at Oliver Stephens.”

School administrators and staff have declined all requests for interviews during the trial of Michael Rafferty and the aftermath of Friday’s guilty verdict. A similar request was issued when the trial began.

“We ask the media to refrain from visiting the school or seeking interviews with staff,” said Smith.

Richard Hoffman, Public Affairs Coordinator for the board, said there have been no significant problems at the school, although out-of-town media, especially television journalists, have been present in the area.

“Just the effect of a TV truck outside the school can be an unwanted distraction,” he said.

"Nobody has all the pieces of the puzzle"

No, but enough pieces were provided by TLM and LE that we can still see what happened. Missing a few pieces of a puzzle doesn't mean you can't tell what that puzzle is of.

I wonder if he even realises that the 'inadmissible evidence' is public. Everybody knows he was into child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬, snuff, necrophilia, bestiality, incest, torturing epileptics, etc. We all know that he has sexually assaulted women, and fear what he may have done to the children of single mothers he targeted.

I do believe him when he says he is sorry, though. Problem with that is he isn't sorry about what he did. He is sorry he got caught. He is sorry nobody believed in his innocence. He is sorry that framing TLM for the entire crime so he could get off with little to no punishment didn't work as planned.
What he is not sorry about is taking this child's life, and the lives of her family and friends with it.

Even monsters aren't this evil...

I feel very... sad for the woman that lost her child. I worry what HE may have done to cause the death of that child.

I wonder if there's an appeal and it's allowed, will he come forward and testify what these pieces are? I think if they are significant enough (presuming he's not lying, as usual) he now has to be kicking himself for not taking the stand at the trial. Somehow, I tend to think it's all BS, because otherwise he would have said right out that his biggest mistake was not testifying.

Well i am hoping to stay off this forum of Tori Stafford and hoping that MR doesn't try for an appeal. Hoping this is it and Tori's family can try to get their lives to somewhat as normal as they can. As for me a huge follower of the case. I too want to try and get back to the norm. This case did have quite the impact on my family as this happened very close to home. Tori is now at rest and TS family has some closure. So i am closing the thread now and hoping things remain finished. Maybe i will see some of you on another thread within the forum. Take care everyone.

Bye bye Mikey. Have a nice life - hope the monsters treat you as well as you treated others. Bye bye.

I have to say this. I know I need to know the why's. I am that stupid that I would want to hear what he has to say. I would want answers. He has the answers why not just say it??? I know I would be curious eventhough it would only be him trying to make it look like she was involved or to torment her mind.

How could he torment her like that? I couldnt have handled that and its too bad Heany didnt tell his to STFU.

Man with all that she has been through to open his paedophilia mouth and utter that trash makes me utterly sick to my stomach. I hope he hangs himself in jail.

No!! I know what Polly Klass' killer insinuated about her Dad.

Did you ever watch the Changelling with Angelina Jolie? Based on a true story. The missing boy;s mom begged to see the killer to find out what happened and he only taunted her. That is based on a a true story.

I really think MR wanted to tell Tara either
a) that TLM did it
or
b) some descriptive details about the rape, just to torment her some more.

I would know he wasn't remorseful. I would know my child suffered and is buried. I would have heard the evidence. Nothing that 🤬🤬🤬 said wanted to say would concern me in the least.

And yes I am a mom. :)

Maybe he wanted to discuss the so-called "drug debt" motive. MOO
