I have been keeping this twitter site up and reload every so often. This is Richard Morse, he runs the Hotel Oloffson and has lived in Haiti for 15 years. He also has a music group named RAM. He has been tweeting quite a bit since the earthquake occured. Sometimes very frequently. It offers a different perspective on what is going on there.

im disgusted by rush limbaugh and pat robertson.
i consider myself both a good christian and a good republican and first and foremost i believe it is my duty as both to show love, mercy and compassion to those who have bad things like this happen to them out of no fault of there own. simply ignorant, stuipd, and probably racist sentiments have no place at a time like this.

Passion we can not close our eyes to this, we just can not. Yes we have so many in this country who have hardships :(
but $5.00 in Haiti goes a very long way, if we all give only what we can, we can save some of the survivors.
We do not have to give big, some of us (me) don't even have a job, we don't have to close our eyes.
Katrina was a Bush abortion - lets not make that a reason. Lets raise above that.
but only give if you can. if you cant it is OK. I cant but I will...I will because one child may eat, or get medical help, or find shelter. I have been looking into Doctors without boarders. And a couple of others.
I am very clear that I am not giving to Red Cross or UN - I don't trust them at all. I want to be sure that
whatever I give will reach its destination, without getting skimmed, scammed.

No one has forgotten about our own poverty sticken. There are people right now in New Orleans working with the Katrina survivors. There are clinics all over NYC to help survivors of 9/11 who are experiencing health issues. We are focusing on Haiti because they have just experienced one of the worst natural disasters in recent history with tens of thousands dead and they need help. When our own government abandoned the Katrina survivors for days on end other countries around the world sent aid and rescue crews. When the twin towers fell countries from all over the world sent help, rescue crews, aid, and lended their support. We are all residents of planet earth. We are all humans beings and we should ALL help one another. This ethnocentric view of only helping your own countrymen just baffles me.

I listened to Rush Limbaugh's program today and didn't hear him say anything but support for this disaster. Therefore, please tell me what he did that made you angry.....just curious.

Two of the worst people on earth, with a microphone. Sad but true. :(
I once knew a girl friend of his in NYC RL he is evil. And I do believe that PR is racist too.
But we are going to talk about how to do good, and help, and be caring, the rest can fall
by the way side and rot. This thread has been kind in spirit.

This just made me cry. :(

It made me cry as well songline.
I keep thinking to myself just how factual it is that not one person on this earth is safe from a natural disaster, and no matter how rich or poor, any of our children, our mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters could be the ones buried under those stones...
It will be the compassion of people from all over the world that will lend a hand, lend their brains and their education, and lend their pennies and few dollars that will add to a growing fund that will help them back on their feet. This is not a country who is begging for fine dinning and luxury homes, they are just asking for safe water to drink and whatever food to keep them alive. Even the richest person in the city cannot buy survival at this time, survival is buried under the rubble..:(
May those who have managed to survive last long enough for the compassionate people of this entire world to lend their hands and pull them out.:grouphug:

There is a discusion on the face book page and someone posted that they heard people where warned in time and got out. I dont know if this is true because there are alot of people listed on the discussion section from the Hotel Montana. Also someone posted that rescuers are still hearing voices in there calling out for help.

Lists of orpanages in Haiti and their status. There are MANY orpanages and some of the children and staff confirmed killed and many of the homes statuses still unknown. I cried when I saw this.
