8.3 Earthquake in Chile and Tsunami Warnings

I am sitting here watching the snow outside, & - darnit, I am wishing I was in HI, even WITH a Tsunami...
 
two waves have come thru, usually 20 minutes between. (these guys are talking fast)

Tsunami warning: California coast beaches closed

MARIN COUNTY, CA - All eyes were on the coast Saturday afternoon as the Bay Area waited to see whether its beaches will experience any local impacts from an 8.8 earthquake that struck off the coast of Chile overnight.
Authorities warned that a tsunami created by the earthquake may be headed toward Hawaii, and the National Weather Service issued a tsunami advisory -- which is not as serious as a warning -- for Bay Area coastlines

Google Launches 'Person Finder' for Chile Quake Victims

The "Person Finder: Chile Earthquake" from the California-based Internet giant is located at Chilepersonfinder.appspot.com and offers users the choice of using it in English and Spanish.

It asks users "What is your situation?" and gives them the choice between "I'm looking for someone" and "I have information about someone."

Users can then search records by name or input information about someone.
 
They are guessing the third wave came in. Apparently they are watching an extension of a reef and watching it get covered with water andthen be exposed again. Very quick water movement.
They are talking about when the all clear is issued, so I think Hilo mmight escape the Tsunami.
I wonder who out in Hollywood started writting the screenplay for this already.

Banderas Bay Mexico, still has lots of currents and very low water in their part of the bay 4hrs after 1st wave
 
Tide changes in Waikiki, per reporter staying at a local hotel, "To an eye that knows this area you can tell something is happening". Reporter sees some surfing out in the water.
 
KHON2 (in Hawaii) reports someone walking on the beach. Calls them idiotic. Says that maybe they have no TV or daio, no computer or Net access or common sense <g>
