(CNN)Orson Bean, a familiar face on TV game shows and series from Hollywood's Golden Age to Netflix, was fatally struck by a car Friday evening while walking across a busy boulevard in Los Angeles, police said.

Bean, 91, was walking off the crosswalk when he was struck by a vehicle and fell, then was struck by a second vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene in front of the Pacific Resident Theatre, where he and his wife, actress Allison "Alley" Mills, were company members, according to CNN affiliate KABC...

Yes, I'd forgotten he was in Housewives! Enjoyed him onscreen since I was a child. What a tragic end for a long, well-lived life.

Yes! I occasionally watch reruns of Dr. Quinn and Little House on Hallmark Drama. Just saw an episode of Dr. Quinn with Orson Bean last week. I mostly remember him from game shows.

I always think of him on the Johnny Carson show telling silly and very funny jokes. He was a frequent visitor on the late night shows at one time, and was always very entertaining.
