Speaking of phones, this is something that I've long wondered about. ( link )
When cops got Barthelemy's phone records, they determined that around the time she vanished, she checked her voice mail from Massapequa, L.I. They showed her picture at several motels, but no one recognized her.
They traced a second phone that belonged to her to an ex-con who said he picked it up after a tussle between hookers in Times Square orchestrated by a pimp.
I have a theory about the first phone call- She never stayed at that motel in Massapequa. I am seriously entertaining the theory that the call was made from her cell phone after she was already dead from a vehicle that someone parked in front of the motel or in its parking lot so the signal would ping making it appear that she was at the motel.
When they checked, there would have been no way for the authorities to differentiate between a call that was made from within one of the rooms or one that was made out on the street or in the parking lot.
This all makes sense in my mind due to the suspected illegal business activity that I have traced to that one address on Old Sunrise Highway in Massapequa (a block and a half away
