My great aunt always said those are "the longest two words in the English language."

Didn't know what she meant as a kid. Now I know.

You can't make this stuff up? Is this a joke? I've been away from WS for just a couple days. Then when I come back, this is the crap I'm reading on this thread? Which is, IIRC, supposedly here to support the victim, who is, if I need to remind anyone, Travis Alexander. Really? What's going on here, The Invasion of the Body Snatchers or some new Twilight Zone episode? What the hay is going on? I personally find it not only disturbing but disrespectful to Travis and his family, and to this thread which is in support of the victim.

I can explain this .. we were all watching Geraldo and he was showing new footage of her post verdict interviews and we were transcribing what she was saying as it was being said. This is a new lie that we had not heard before .. not intended in any way to trash Travis, we were all shocked to hear it :)

We're reporting the latest claim she has made in her interview leaked via Geraldo tonight. I don't see anything in my post that makes any claim for the factual nature of her claim, or says that I think it's great and wonderful and true, or anything of the sort. Are you suggesting that we should not discuss her interview? There are likely to be many more odious statements before we hear all 45 minutes.

My opinion is not a popular one here but I feel sorry for everyone that has been in the path of her destruction, even her parents. I can't imagine her mother not WANTING to believe her story. It must be tearing her up inside. And wondering what she could have done to prevent it. I'm sure that with Jodi's knowledge of what the media is saying, I'm sure Jodi has told her Mom that Dr Drew blames her for not getting her help. God knows how they could have made her go to a shrink. Nothing is her fault. MOO

Hi myvice,

There is no such thing as "getting help" for a sociopathic or borderline child. I had such a child and took him to Stanford Univeristy to the top child psychiatrist and this is the help he gave me: Try to have a stable home without a lot of chaos. Perhaps you should remarry. You've done well so far, all things considered, because I think he will be in an institution before he is ten (he was six).

I could go on and tell you of other psychiatric visits, like why is he so obsessed with movies? why is he so obsessive? why does he talk to himself like he is two people?

THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!

They can help you as the parent to manage the behavior and your own emotions, but that's it. The idea that there is a cure for everything is a product of a society that wants to fix things rather than accept that some things must just be lived with.

IMO as another mother with a violent child, Sandy Arias is just demonstrating that she is a good mother. she is sending a message that says, "Look, we are regular, normal people and this monster that we raised, well, we remember her as a baby and she was sweet. She had a great smile and ws so smart. We still love her."

My experience raising a sociopath is a horror story of cold-blooded attacks on his siblings, of rape and a complete unconcern regarding the welfare of anyone else. Imagine how well you sleep raising a houseful of little kids with a teenager like this. He ended up in a school for deviants followed by prison and then an early death.

Jody's behavior in my book is excused. She is a victim of Jodi Arias, just like the Alexander family. She abused her mother ALL HER LIFE and all her mother wanted was a normal relationship. She was baffled by the mood swings and didn't know how to handle it, BUT IT WOULDN"T HAVE MATTERED.

All she could do was protect other people. I did that fairly well although I failed to protect younger children from rape because I couldn't believe that could happen in our family. As a mother, you cannot, simply cannot believe that the beautiful rosy cheeked baby that you saw as perfect is, in fact, a conscienceless murderer.

Sandy Arias suffers from PTSD and is doing the only thing she can do - pretend to believe her daughter was abused. Think about her reaction when she first heard that Jodi was there. She told Detective Flores that she asked her if she had been to Arizona. SHE KNEW THEN THAT HER DAUGHTER WAS CAPABLE OF THIS.

If they came to me and said any such thing about any of my daughters, I would say, "Oh you are barking up the wrong tree, mister. My daughter? Are you KIDDING ME? She WOULD NEVER be involved in a murder! Sweet Lord you must be struggling hard for a suspect!!!" That's a normal reaction, not "Just a minute and I'll ask her."

On the other hand, there was a time when I called the police regarding my son and told them I thought he possibly had murdered someone because of a conversation I heard.......

Oh, yes indeed !!! When I heard that, I ran into the living room and said "Dick Samuels is the one that told her that"...Of course, I was speaking to the person watching it with me...

That "Person" was real, right?

Murder in the first degree. Special on right now on CNN

I'm watching a documentary on the military channel about Japan just before WWII and what happened after they attacked Pearl Harbor.

My point is that it's being claimed here on this thread that "you can't make this stuff up". Which is ridiculous, as it can be and probably is.

I don't believe there really is a picture of Travis chasing a 4 year old. That is just one of Jodi's lies. There is no proof and it came out of her mouth so I don't believe it.

If there was such a photo, Nurmi would have used it in court. Consider all that he said, and allowed her to say about Travis--he would have jumped on it if there was anything at all that might legitimize her pedo claims.

Then you misunderstood sleuth5 when he said that and before jumping to conclusions you should have asked him.

I think the 'you can't make this stuff up' is a line, it's a way of saying 'this is crazy talk' .. just a bit of slang, not meant to be taken literally :)

I think she did her best as she could understand it. I think a lot of what needed to be done was over her head.

Yikes! That's horrible.

But that expression is meant to convey the pure absurdity of the claims she's making, e.g. we couldn't come up with anything so completely out of the stratosphere and who could POSSIBLY believe the fact that anyone could. That's what I take the expression to mean.

Purely an expression of incredulity.

A LOT of times when I run across a post that shocks me, I click the blue box next to the poster's name so that I can see the original quote for context. Then it makes sense and I can relax. lol

It's an expression of disbelief. Like saying 'I can't believe this stuff!'
