Aggravated waiting for the aggravation phase #6

Just heard on CNN that the abortion MD cut a deal today for LWOP.

Does anyone believe that Jodi's team is trying to cut a deal for LWOP? Maybe if she does a complete turnaround on the stand, admits everything was a lie etc. ? Personally, I do not believe that Mr. Martinez would offer or sanction such a deal. But, I am also wondering if the Alexander family could be just tired of it all at this point?

Yes, but the baby killer also gave up his rights to any appeal. And at the age of 72, he's not gonna be around long. I just wish he would have been arrested years ago!

Jodi give up her right to an appeal? Hmmm....I don't know. She's young enough, that I don't know if she'd give up that power. But that's JMHO.

Here's a link to the baby killer's deal. In this case, it makes sense to me.

Prosecutors had sought the death penalty because Gosnell killed more than one person, and his victims were especially vulnerable given their age. But Gosnell's own advanced age had made it unlikely he would ever be executed before his appeals ran out.

I broke my glasses this morning and had to make an emergency run to Lenscrafters. Just for the helluvit, I tried on a pair of "Jodi glasses," the heavier frames, tortoiseshell, or whatever they are. I looked so bad the lady there was giving me this very odd look, like "why would you even think of wearing those?" I'm like, "Do you know anything about the Jodi Arias trial?" :drumroll:

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I have that image in my head now.

My sister has it too and it is so sad. She has forgotten all her words and our names. Our mother is 18 years older than my sister and she is just showing signs of dementia. It is so very sad.

It is very sad. But I'm not convinced it's bad for the person that has it. I've taken care of dying people that didn't have it and their awareness of everything that was going on was more than heartbreaking.

When you care for someone with dementia, almost any time away sounds good. It just goes with the territory. When I can, I'll go back to work again and dig my butt out my debt. But right now, it's much more important to me to keep Mom in her own home with her pets. But we have very little respite care available, so it's a full time 24/7 job taking care of someone who really isn't the same person. It's almost like caring for someone who is just occupying her body.

Awwww ((((hugs))))

Some people may feel that way but he does tend to get re-elected over & over again..

I live in Phoenix and I've seen both sides of the coin on this and I'll just leave it at that.[/QUOTE

He might have his faults but at least he has common sense which seems to be lacking these days in the world at large. Prison/jail is supposed to be a punishment not a picnic.

:ditto: :ditto:

Would someone please tell me what jurious means? TIA.

You sound like a great child, being there for your mother in her home and her pets. I wish the US culture cared more about the elderly. In my experience, the elderly are warehoused into nursing homes $$ My son is married to a gal from Thailand and they honor and take care of their elderly parents. IMO, nobody should go broke due to medical/elderly care bills. US health care is really based on $$$.

In her face just before the verdict is read you see this subtle confidence. As the clerk is reading, she starts prepping her emotional, Casey Anthony-esque, thank heavens they believed my story of woe and acquitted me, tear face, then...BOOM. As soon as she hears guilty her face doesn't change much but her eyes and mouth drop slightly before she pulls the shaky chin move, which I can't tell is genuine or not.

I think she was surprised at the verdict.

I agree, I actually thought she was trying to hide a smile at the very beginning when she was waiting for the verdict to be read - IMO she definitely thought she was going to be given a light sentence, if anything at all. Her demeanor changed when she heard the felony first degree verdict.

BBM

He's not in the employee directory at USC.
At least not under that name. I know Wikipedia says he is; his web site does not say he's a prof at 'SC.
He did give a commencement address here in 2011.

She explained the gas cans when on the stand by saying when she lived with Darrel and they would have to drive any length in the desert that they would put gas cans in the trunk just in case. Which is one of her reasons for taking them along.
Side note-I believe they lived in Palm Desert, though I have no clue if that is actually anywhere near a desert.

WELL...I have lived in the desert all my life and not once have I thought of carrying a gas can in my trunk. A cell phone maybe.

I just wanted to say that, to me, what you're doing for your mother is the quintessential expression of love, right down to keeping her with her pets. It has moved me to tears. I wish you peace and love and respite. You are an inspiration.

dang I wish the deputies had allowed her just one punch anyway. No we won't see anything like this. But wouldn't it be nice if they could say exactly what they want to and not be restricted.....that just suxks IMO

Sorry if I missed it, but it sounds like you are saying the Alexander family will be restricted in what they can say somehow? Why?

Also, I think they are much too classy a family to go ballistic like Dahmer's victim's family member did. But I hope they are able to crush JA with the words they choose. To her core. To the point she cannot breathe.

Thank you for posting this. I am now wondering if she openly threatened the judge. For the additional armed bailiffs to enter the closed courtroom was not on a lark.

If there are additional deputies with JA, it is probably because she is now a capital murder convict. They are usually treated very differently than other convicts (e.g. more security, less interaction with other people and convicts/inmates, etc.).

Palm Desert is in the desert but it's a fully urbanized area. In fact it's part of a sprawling megalopolis that includes (north to south) Palm Spring, Cathedral City, Rancho Mirage, Palm Desert, and La Quinta. Fully urbanized. Gas stations on every corner.

The whole needing a gas can in the desert is just absurd. Unless you are going off-road, there's just no need. Heading east on 10 from Palm Springs to Phoenix, the longest between gas stations is no more than 60 miles. It was all just a lie, as we all know....
