Aggravated waiting for the aggravation phase #6

Gotta tell you, I always thought that too but here's the rub.. I had a red Camaro with a racing engine and t-tops for 9 years. At that time, I was a pretty hot chick with long blonde hair and a lead foot. (Now I am an old fart with a lead foot) I was only ever stopped ONCE for speeding - on I-20 in SC - I told the trooper I had to go to the bathroom and was looking for an exit. He "escorted" me to the next exit where I promptly got out and headed for the ladies' room...did not even get a warning. Just saying ya know... :)

I got stopped for speeding in my blue camero when I was in college traveling through a long stretch of nothingness and anxious to get back to the dorm. Cop was wearing one of those big trooper hats which the wind swooped right off his head and his look was one of "shall I write this ticket or chase my hat?". I told him to go chase his hat and waited patiently for him to return to writing his ticket which he then transformed into a warning.

With all due respect, I wouldn't call it a split. It was 12 unanimous premeditated murder with 5 of the jurors ALSO convicting her of felony murder....

Juries are fickle things, you never know what you are going to get. With the split on the conviction, you can already tell they will agonize over the decision they must come to. I feel tremendous sorrow for them for this decision time and for having to sit there for months and learn of this.

That being said, this was a particularly brutal murder. Clearly from the crime scene photos as much fear and infliction of pain one could possibly cause before the moment of death was the purpose.

Regardless of any reason(s) why (they certainly never heard reasons to push anyone to this point of damage), I think they will ultimately decide DP, if all the jurors are capable of considering it.

It must be agonizing for them these past few days of waiting and constantly thinking about it without being able to at least relieve their thoughts with a talk with a therapist or a loved one.

Thinking of them during this incredibly hard time...........

Having been the caretaker more than once....funny how others who pop in and out act and talk as though they are burdened by their nothing visits consisting of Hi and Bye or deserve some kind of award for their generous attention to the dying person.

That's when you truly learn who your friends are!

Been there as well ((hugs))

I'm referring to the 7-5 split. Shows how they will think about DP or LWOP.

Right. But remember, JM told the jury they did not have to come to consensus for either premeditated or felony, so the vote was essentially their first knee jerk reaction. And it wasn't a 7-5 split. It was 12 for premeditated (consensus) and 5 for felony. It's not a split by any means.

Well, even normal people who are not planning a murder can see the red car being an issue.

When my husband bought a red truck I told him to be careful because the police notice red more than any other car color. He got 3 speeding tickets within a month. Needless to say, he used the cruise control after that .

Don't they just hate it when their wives are right??

that is a myth along with insurance being higher for red cars.

I know a lot of cops and I asked them that question....they have all told me that red is NEVER a signal to pay more attention to a car verse another car that is white or black or whatever.

afterall, you can get minivans in red and I have never seen a minivan driver be all about speed because they are in their red minivan.

if you are speeding, you are speeding and the color of car has nothing to do with it...the driver does ;) a cop will stop a speeder no matter what color the car. a cop will not pull over a red car w/out probable cause and red is certainly not probable cause.

you can also google the myth and find site after site dispelling the myth...including snopes. http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/redcars.asp

My favorite part is STILL the Starbucks Ninja Screwdriver-wielding Skateboarders. Can't help it. Just thinking about it makes me giggle. I re-watched that part of Juan's closing today.

The "hoard of skateboarders." Brilliant. :floorlaugh:

My kids were skateboarders for a while...their concern was where they were going to do their next spectacular trick. I'm sure there is no skateboarder alive who's agenda is playing with people's license plates.

I see it as a split. I think a few will agonize over the decision.

I do think DP will be the outcome. I just feel for them having to make the decision and make sure that it is one they can live with. I couldn't do it, I wouldn't be chosen as a juror as I would make it very clear.

There's false information being spread by Jodi fans on other sites -- that Jodi returned the gas can to another Walmart. They're confused.

Fact. There was only one Walmart in Salinas in 2008.

The Walmart lady who testified at the trial worked for store 2458. This is the same store that Jodi bought the third gas can from (it's listed on the receipt). In 2008, Walmart store 2458 was located at 1375 N. Davies road. This is the address where Jodi purchased the gas can from and the ONLY store she could have returned it to in Salinas. In 2010, this store relocated to 1800 N Maine, after Walmart purchased a vacant building from Home Depot. Its records, cash registers, etc were all relocated to this building -- becoming a super Walmart and this is where the Walmart lady currently works at. In its wake, another Walmart with new management (and different store number) opened up at 1375 N Davies (July, 2010). This Walmart was not checked by Juan because it did not exist in 2008 and therefore would not have the relevant records.

Formerly located at 1375 N. Davis Road 102,000-square-foot Walmart

Store opens at 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, following a 7:30 a.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony

Store manager: Gilbert Mendez

Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week

Agreed. I've also come to realize as I've gotten older...Money IS the root of all evil.

Actually, the quote reads "the LOVE of money is the root of all evil", and that may be true. Money in and of itself is good; it actually makes the world go 'round ;)

Friends? Heck no...friends to busy tending to trivial things/entertaining themselves to care. Being a caregiver is totally draining. I took care of my dying uncle for a year. He wanted me because he knew I was realistic and didn't want people around who talked to him like a baby and spewed BS from their lips about his health/conditions.

How does the convicted murderer keep on talking to the convicted arsonist via phone so the arsonist can tweet her nonsense, stirring up her followers? (like ones who call in b*mb threats or perhaps maybe build one)...perhaps the convicted arsonist might even do the dangerous murderer's dirty work for her.
geez, targets would be Travis' family, Juan Martinez or Steve Flores, the targets she was aiming for when she had the 9mm and 2 knives in the rental car when finally arrested.

This is taken care of during jury selection in a trial where the DP is on the table ..

Who is this guy? Brian? I believe he ha a point about preducial(ha) testimony. This TH is trying to say something and would not be heard my JVM!

My mom lived with me and not for financial reasons (she was still working). I did not want her to live alone, nor did she.

My mom loved living alone so it was an adjustment. But she's settled in now and I've gotten used to it too. It's nice having her around...she spoils me, fixes dinner, etc.

She told me I had to let her do that kind of stuff so she would feel like she is useful and not a burden, so I let her. She knows better really, but it makes her happy to feel needed still (I'm an only child).

Back to on topic though....my mom avidly watches the trial and HATES Jodi...hates her!

We watch together the last couple of hours when I return home from work.
