Wow. Just as the barbaric gruesome stabbing of Travis was overkill, so too IMO is this portion of the trial. She has been found guilty of Murder one. I don't see that this serves any purpose. She is never again going to see the light of day. While I understand that there are crimes that cut us to the bone (in this case literally), I cannot see that having her die for this does any good. I am against the death penalty.

I'm sure the Alexander Family, in this case, and all murder victim families would disagree with you. Just ask any of them. And eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. Having this monster executed will do a world of good for this suffering family. There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking revenge, and they have every right to take that revenge in any way they see fit.

Does that pretty much seal the deal for the death penalty? I mean, they wouldn't find it was "extremely cruel" or whatever...and then not give her the DP? Right? What would be the point?

Your point does seem logical BUT after they listen to the mitigation phase it might tug at someone's heart strings and they may go for life.

But don't you think that if there was anything good the DT would have put it out there already.

I remember they had to pull Scott Peterson's elementary school teacher out to have something good to say about him.

Who can they call for JA? Who would speak in a public forum for her?

Just like magic as soon as the jury was out she went straight to being the perfect little secretary, filing away all of her important papers...

IMO the reason for so many objections today was a FU to CMJA from JW. 1) no room that they left anything open 2)it pisses everyone off

I completely agree - and I seriously doubt that Travis Alexander was feeling any endorphin-related effects while Arias was slaughtering him while stabbing him to death. He felt extreme agony & terror for an eternity of at least 2 horrifically long minutes. The adrenaline defense is absurd.

I wish Juan would have mentioned BPD's know right from wrong, and are held to the same standard as others.
Wonder how long they'll need to deliberate. If they would happen to find it was NOT especially cruel, does the judge just decide right then if it's LWOP or LWP?
