Real quick, wanted to say thanks for responding so quickly Bessie. Gotta runn but bb in a bit.

Its probably legal to have so much marijuana in your possession in AK without getting busted if caught with it, but its probably illegal to sell it. I had a feeling this case involved drugs and in the eyes of the law a driver is no different than a seller. I'm with Duane here when I say "What a mess!" Maybe LE should rattle Chris Byrd hard and get some answer here. He may not be involved directly but I'd be willing to say he probably has a good idea of what is going on. Running drugs is the same as drug traffickking and if she was involved in that more than likely she got in over her head.

My fear is what reason would anyone have to keep her alive and well for this long? It seems too long to be a ransom-type thing. And surely she is old enough to be a good witness. I fear that she will not be returned safely...JMO.

Omg omg omg I just thought of something...

What would be the penalty of illegal sale of cannibas if the person has a felony on their record?

Hmmm... Motive.

If I brainstorm a bit, what about if half of a delivery is missing? What would happen? Who would the dealer go after? Would he start with his seller(s)? Or would he start with the lowest person on the totem pole - the driver? If he starts with the driver, he might think that would scare his sellers into coming up with his missing product. Would they have to come up with the street value of lost/stolen product OR just replace it?

I think James gave us a big clue as to what he thinks happened to Sam, in his letter. It makes sense and fits with the few facts we know about her disappearance. My mind wondered to that big drug bust made not too long after Sam disappeared. The driver was supposed to meet someone in Anchorage, but got pulled over before it took place and they searched her SUV. IIRC, the drugs were coming in from Fairbanks. I have to go back and find a link.

Notice the one thing he did not address ... that SK took three thousand dollars from him.

If she got herself in over her head in drug traffickking and she owed someone money they could have taken her and who's to say that didn't sell her into human traffickking? She could be anywhere by now and they'd never find her. My heart and prayers go out to this family.

Why am I confused about the time Sam's cell went dead? For some reason, 5:00 a.m. is stuck in my head but then I started reading that her cell died around noon or just a bit before? What is the 5:00 a.m. time? Is that when JK stopped searching but maybe continued calling until her phone died? Didn't DT also say he called til her cell died? Also, who was the first person exactly to report Sam missing? Some articles inform her father reported her missing, while other articles inform the owners of the coffee shop reported her missing.

I don't know, but I have the same problem! When I went through links yesterday and found the one that said her dad said her phone starting going right to vm around noon, I kept thinking that it had been 5 am too. What are we thinking of? The coffee shop lists opening time as 5:30 am on weekdays...maybe that's what we're confusing? I'm not sure....

I'm so fatigued by this case you guys. The total lack of information from the APD, the nasty, nasty gossip, the Dad's anguish...I just feel really bummed out. This *should* have been much easier to solve than it has been.

All I have to say is that if/when the info the APD has comes out...and if Sam doesn't make it out of this alive, they (the APD) better hope that they made the right choices. Otherwise I hope the family goes after them for everything. This is ridiculous. Do they even *know* what they're doing??? I have my doubts.

Hang in there Koenigs.

To those that may know...

Would a dealer have the same responsiblities as a seller? Would a seller have the same responsibilities as a runner? Would a runner have the same responsibilities as a driver? What is the average cut?

If - BIG if - drugs are involved in this scenario, I'm just not seeing anyone in the immediate circle as being a dealer. None of them are living large so to speak.

With cannibas being legal in AK, what would be the penalty for illegal sale and/or distribution?

I can answer a little part of this I think....I'll admit I've known some pot dealers. They would get it from a "supplier" - usually this is the person that is either importing it or growing it (even in their basement or something). The supplier stands to make the most money, and the dealer would make whatever the markup was between what they paid the supplier and what they charged the person they are selling to. Any pot dealers I knew had regular jobs and were kinda low-level so to speak. They made some decent side money, but certainly nothing to where you would consider them "living large". I always think of "runners" as more involved in large quantity over-state-lines trafficking, which I know nothing about personally....the pot dealers I knew dealt with mostly people they really knew and they would go to their house themselves to deliver it, or the person would come to them.

The took her alive for a reason. They didn't kill her and leave. That means something huge to me. The fact that nothing has been asked for in exchange by now seems odd.

Is this a big deal in Anchorage? Maybe there is too much interest and they can't return her.
(I assumed it was, there are 2 missing women from my area and unfortunately its silent, and I mean silent..)

Do people really get kidnapped and returned for ransom in America? I have hung around some seedy people and seen a LOT of crooked shtuff, but I honestly am unfamiliar with a kidnapping and ransom case....

Hi Joe - please could you delete your link? We're not allowed to post to their facebook anymore. This is bc there's been too many rumors flying back & forth between these families. I just don't wanna see ya get a timeout. I asked the mods earlier if I could post it and they said no, only main stream media.

Thanks... ;)

I don't know of any kidnapping for ransom in the past 100 years or so in the US...and none I can think of where the victim was returned unharmed after ransom was paid...anyone?

The problem is, they can't very well drop Samantha off somewhere now...she must know who they are or would be able to identify them. I think she probably recognized the guy right away, and knew him to some extent. Armed kidnapping can be life in prison.

I really think it is time for LE to show that tape...what harm can it do?? If LE can't tell who it is, maybe no one else can either, but maybe they can.

(PS- I don't think we are allowed to link to any FB pages right now? I could be wrong, but I know there was a warning last night, said something about no more FB for this case...)

  • #334
ALL FB and social networking pages associated with this case are OFF LIMITS at this time. That includes linking to them and discussing what's posted on them.

There will be no more warnings!!

What about the gather and.huffington post? Can we.post those links? Chelsea has now posted an article with James full letter in it?
The blog is off limits, too. That was posted last night.

Do you have a link to a Huffington Post article?

I would imagine the letter or portions of will be posted in a MSM article soon. <modsnip>

I think CB is the type of person who retaliates. I find it hard to believe he didn't retaliate against having sexual assault charges brought?

I had a neighbor bring charges against my dog that were false, and she never showed in court either, and I am still holding a grude. jus sayin'.

This is a HUGE deal in Anchorage. My 4 year old says "Look, there's a Samantha sign" when we go to McDonalds and see them posted. There are flyers/posters EVERYWHERE, stores have it on their marquees, the mall has it on their big color sign in the parking lot. I guarantee you there is no one in this town that doesn't know about this, and since Anchorage is such a "small town" pretty much everyone knows someone who knows someone who knows one of the interested parties.

The last bit in the Anchorage paper was 3/3 or 3/4 and that was just the bit about the guy giving away his strip club...so apparently there is just nothing to report than can be backed up. JMO
