I love purple, so I'll allow it lol
Goes well with his hair, too.
All I could think of was Barney the Dinosaur. I love you, you love me....

He should have said what other things she was searching for.

Who cares if it might embarrass her
If she continues to lie or refuse to speak to them, they should release them. She had people out searching for her and an endangered baby!

Elephant in the room - Chief of Police in a purple sport coat.
I loved it! Used the opportunity to show his wonderful and unique fashion sense.

Was there any mention of ring camera video or Carlee being seen after disappearing on the highway?

She intended to alert authorities and start a futile search if she was googling amber alerts.

Yep. Way to show premeditation, Carlee! She must've really thought she'd get away with this, and she must not know that police can look at your phone history (she doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed - hope that's ok to say since our victim turned out to be the criminal herself).

Extremely well done presser. We've seen all sorts of pressers and this was a good one. Well handled.

Also, I commend their work and their timing, not coming forward with the facts of the matter too soon. It gives the impression that they wanted to have everything lined up to be able to come forward and say for sure there isn't a threat for the neighborhood, while avoiding discrediting her story publicly for as long as possible. That would've looked really bad, imho.

No, I don't think they even mentioned the Red Roof Inn which is wild to me. Hopefully we find out more soon.

They should a had one of the "Today's wardrobes provided by ..." credits at the end.

This is Sherri Papini all over again. I am incredulous!!

I am guessing here that her parents might still be in denial. <modsnip>

You know I had sympathy until hearing the level of fabrication. It's mean and premeditated.
I suspected it was planned somewhat, but never to this level. She’s really a piece of work !

Could still be a hoax. Maybe she wasn't there, indeed. Now we know the police won't come out with information they're not really, really sure about.

What was the point of all this though, what did it achieve for her?

couldn't agree more. it's their precious baby girl! is she an only child? because this screeeams main character syndrome. unbelievable. the cheezits, the searches, the 18 wheeler (where did THAT come from).

She doesn't get the firing squad over this, but her actions are appalling and criminal. The resources focused on her and pulled away from other cases or real-time emergencies infuriates me. Most departments are stretched thin already. The total price tag on Operation Find Carlee will be astonishing. I'm not angry with her parents; their daughter was in trouble regardless of whether they believed her or not. This should not destroy her life, but she needs help, a reality check, and whatever legal punishment comes her way. imo

Based on the "personal" searches that were not shared, maybe so.
Now that would be the only reasoning for this escapade I’d co-sign!
