Not to mention, if she did follow this alleged Olympian sprinter toddler for 600 yards, what are the odds that she caught up to the kid at the EXACT spot the balding orange man was hiding?! Perhaps baldy was running through the trees alongside the toddler, I mean in this story anything is possible /s

Levying a fine against her won't do any good--she doesn't have the money, her parents would end up paying it.

What I think would be more valuable would be bringing smaller charges against her with the requirement of community service hours, parole, and therapy. That way her family has no role in restitution, she gives back to the community who came out in droves to look for her and support her family, and checks are made to make sure she is actually getting whatever therapy and help she needs.

That's what is going to make her grow as a person and give her a way to take steps to make things right. Everything else is just punishment and/or allows her parents/mom to try to keep sheltering her.

One thing I can't quite wrap my mind around with this case, is why Carlee would call 911 AND a family member if she was planning her own disappearance. If this is all a hoax, why would she call 911 when she knew officers would be sent to the scene immediately instead of just abandoning her car somewhere less well-travelled and buying herself extra time before it was found? Surely she knew calling 911 about an abandoned toddler walking on the side of a major interstate would get an immediate police response.

If her parents had her phone's location and she didn't come home, they would surely go looking and find her car. She even called her mom to say she was on her way home with her mom's dinner. If she wanted to stage her own disappearance, wouldn't she just leave the car somewhere more inconspicuous and start her "escape" before her mom even had a reason to track her phone? I just can't make the idea of a staged disappearance make sense in my brain. I'd love to see anyone's thoughts!

IMO, some young women do drastic t
When I was a teenager I did experience an abduction situation by an older guy known to family, and was taken out of state. In my own case, there was considerable trauma and I definitely wanted to speak with police about it.
I was abducted as a teenager and I couldn't talk to police fast enough to hopefully protect and save other girls from this man!

Prime Suspect identified….orange haired man with bald spot on top.

I am guessing here that her parents might still be in denial. <modsnip>
Or they might just be in shock and denial. I refuse to pass judgment on them, they sound like parents who genuinely gave her the benefit of the doubt, and couldn’t fathom that she would do something like this

no one expects a child they have raised to go off and do something like this. There is no evidence that she was raised entitled or enabled in any sort of way.

Do y'all think she took the robe & TP for the disappearance? For some reason, I didn't consider that at first. Robe for if she's cold, TP for the obvious, in case she has to hang out in woods. I think she hung around for a few days enjoying alllll the attention she was getting. I think a burner phone must be involved or something. I wonder if she ever purchased a bus ticket, and I wonder if brother's gf is involved or nah.

Strong Hand is out here running around with his hair dyed orange apparently lol

IMO she took them for her stay at the hotel or wherever she ended up. So sh would be more comfortable

I get what you're saying but she is also 25. Not like they can force her to do something.
Too traumatized to speak? really
If her fairy tale of a story was true she wouldn't wait one minute to tell the police about her "abductors" so they could find these people. Of course she doesn't want to talk to the police----

My first thought was “you also need to be a child,” and then my second thought was that she did insert a child into the story. Was she trying to cause a fake amber alert for the supposed child or for herself?

JMO
I think she was trying/hoping that people WOULDN'T call in an Amber Alert... hence her searching up "do you have to pay".

I'm not incredibly surprised if she meant to look for "need to pay for calling in a false one".

As for the stuff she stole from her employer the spa, I thought she wanted the plush robe because hey, spa robes are nice... and the toilet paper, maybe, because she's thinking of striking out on her own.

(Using both in Nashville, as it were.)

Admittedly, I only had this thought because when my friend was night auditor at a hotel, he would literally steal all his home toilet paper from the housekeeping closet. (I know, I know... in his defense, he was a dude who lived alone and had few visitors, so he didn't use much. I told him I didn't approve.)

I didn't say she is too traumatized to speak. I said she is a 25 year old adult. How are her parents going to FORCE her to speak with anyone?
