Oh I think she does see this as romance, as there really is no other reason to essentially throw her entire life away.

Although it may not have been physical, that doesn't change my thinking any.
Sheriff says she was getting him extra food on his tray so if she was hoping for that quick route to his heart, she probably believed cupid done did his part, and now they could take this show on the road!

“As the search for Vicky White and 38-year-old Casey Cole White (no relation) stretches into its fifth day, her late husband’s family doesn’t know what to think.“ bbm

Guard Who Fled With Murder Inmate Was Cashed Up and Eyeing Florida, Family Says
From your link:

“You know, there’s a $10,000 reward out, and somebody will tell them something,” she said. “I thought if she had talked to anybody, maybe they would come forward to get that money… Maybe he’s got her brainwashed. But I don't know how he’d have had a chance to get her brainwashed, because he was in prison.

Right there with you ma'am. Right there with you.

You’re right. But she also knows she is on video.
Seeing as she worked there for 15 plus years, she also knew her phone calls were being recorded. I'm just pointing out what I'm seeing.

That's what I'm hoping. Some kind of Romeo/Juliet suicide pact. He had nothing to live for - with a death penalty hanging over his head on top of an already minimum release date of 2090. She apparently wasn't all that attached to her current life either. The best outcome for society, though sad, is some kind of suicide pact where no one else gets hurt. IMO

I also wonder if the Ridgeway confession could’ve been bogus and used as a ticket into Lauderdale and back into special relationship with VW.

The murder-suicide pact doesn’t ring right to me yet. Need more information. For now, I think that in her mind, they’re making a play to start over and see if they can build a life in some remote corner far, far away.

I don’t think Casey would be able to stick with that plan…or to stay in a committed relationship even if he was genuinely in love at one point (which I question).

Actually I was pondering that. That car was seen on the day they escaped, the Friday the 29 th. It occurred to me that she bought such a visible car knowing it would eventually be spotted...passing a camera or whatever.

VW just seems way too organized in having planned this escape months in advance.
I suspect that car was ditched shortly afterwards and they took off in another car.
Now, 5 days later, everybody is on the lookout for an orange heap.

She could have bought a second car privately out of someone’s yard and given the seller a false name and driver’s license number for the report of sale.

If she had been playing musical cars and had been squirreling cash away for a long time, I wonder if she had connections to any prepper communities; she might have learned how to run and hide long-term from them. Considering his apparent ties to further-end right-wingers, I wonder if he stoked any latent paranoia in her and they ran not because of romance, but a shared belief in some wacky lizard people conspiracy delusion. I’m really curious to know if she participated in some of the conspiracy echo chamber social media platforms.

I don't think VW sees it as a suicide pact. I think she thinks she is in love and can get far enough to get away with breaking him out. I think CW is completely using VW and will kill her given the chance. I also see him dying by cop. He won't go back alive.

If they didn't realize their employee and an inmate who left around 9am had escaped/were unaccounted for until 3pm, how can anyone there be sure there wasn't a physical or romantic relationship?

Even if they are 100% sure there was not a physical relationship during the time of his incarceration, how can they be sure there was not a romantic one between both or at least one of them? They can disappear for 6 hours in one day totally unnoticed, but they're sure those two never found a broom closet for 10 minutes to get it on or to whisper sweet nothings into one another's ears or to say, plan out or relay info about an escape....

It doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to classify whatever those two have going on as different or "special" She only helped him escape, not everybody or anyone else. Obviously there's something there.

I almost wonder if its somesort of tactic, for authorities/investigators to minimize the relationship, to perhaps instill doubt, anger, or fear in Vicky that things are not as she thinks they are; that he used her, or has someone else on the outside he intends to be with instead, something to drive a wedge between the two?

I don't know, I'm just rambling. I just find it almost too coincidental that she hasn't seemed to have a partner or husband in quite some time, she risked everything/threw away everything to get this guy out, but authorities are saying she's not romantically or physically involved with him or related to him? Interesting.

One possibility we haven’t talked about yet, probably because it’s so uncommon and we don’t have much information to support it, is that they could’ve split up I suppose.

I always ask myself what assumptions I might be making. For example, that CW will likely dispose of her at some point. But she has firearm training herself. If things went south, she could also be the one to pull the trigger on him and turn herself in if she wanted to claim to have been coerced. Not saying that tactic would work, but I like to flip things on their heads sometimes.

I would love to have access to her search history on the internet.

Hi everyone. I was reading about this case. I need to get up to speed on CW's previous case and history.

I think admitting there might have been a physical relationship would make their jail admins look even more incompetent too. Lawyers may be suggesting not to admit any suspicion of physical relationship to reduce as much liability as possible.

In many ways, I think this job was her life and her identity. Death might seem more attractive to VW than a life without a purpose, or routine.

Also -- her late husband's mother stated that the husband died in January. Does anybody know if this was Jan 2022 or earlier? That too might factor in with her decision to give it all up. Actually, her mother-in-law did say something about being happy that her son did not live to witness this ordeal. Interesting dynamics with VW. MOO

Random but anyone know if CW had a profile on the 'write inmates' website.

Agreed. This has been considered by others too. Yes, he died in January of 2022. And she visited him throughout the end of his life.

Everyone keeps saying that her husband died. She was divorced from him though they were still in contact. The research I did showed them being married less than 5 years.

Who is Vicky White? Missing Alabama jailer retired, sold house before Casey White’s escape

I'm trying to understand this folly. I really am. I am 3 years older than VW. Also single (but with one adult child), retired from active duty military with a check coming in every month, recently retired from federal civil service, also with a check coming in every month. Free healthcare for life. All without doing a single darn thing every day. I simply cannot imagine a scenario where I would walk away from all that for a felon. A common, violent criminal. I literally cannot envisage such a scenario at my age. I'm not excusing VW, but there has to be something seriously wrong with her. jmo

If they aren’t found soon, I think that tells us she understood that she had to get him out of the public eye and keep him there. And that she had a location and supplies ready to do just that. I’d love to learn about even one time they were captured on surveillance on the run — just so we would have a better idea of what direction they went.
Or, he "had a location and supplies ready." Who are HIS friends? Where is HIS missing brother?

This was apparently his plan, to die by cop and to kill his ex-girlfriend in 2015.
Alabama prison escapee ‘a monster’ who warned cops in 2015 he’d kill ex-girlfriend if he ever got out

Casey Cole White, the murder suspect who escaped from an Alabama jail Friday morning with the alleged help of a prison official, warned cops in 2015 that he’d kill his ex-girlfriend if he got the chance, according to court documents.

"He stated that he wanted to kill her and have the police kill him," a police report from December of that year concludes. "His only regret was that neither was successful. He stated that if he was released he would kill the victim."

I dont think there was a romantic relationship....yet. But perhaps there was hope for one once they were out.
Or, he had some other hold on her? Her mother or mother-in-law or nephew might be harmed?
