You can't hotwire most cars made since the late 90's, they have a chip-based ignition cutoff. They are stealing cars where people have left them running or left the keys in them.

So I would think it's easier to check how much fuel is in the tank before you start fiddling with the pliers and wires!
Now I can understand why some people hijack rather than steal.

Missing Alabama inmate Casey White spotted at Indiana car wash.

So Casey was observed at a car wash without Vicky. How is car washing a priority for him? Why would he go to a car wash, rather than send Vicky, given how conspicuous he is?

I suspect he’s cleaning blood and DNA evidence from the car and Vicky has come to a tragic and untimely end. He probably planned to say she ran off on him.

Car wash guy said he saw both CW and and a woman matching VW at the car wash. VW either wasn't caught on camera or LE hasn't released footage of VW on camera from the car wash.

I sure hope it’s true. So odd that they would hang around Evansville all this time and even more strange that they would wash the truck they stole and then dump it. (Assuming both of those events involve white and white.)

Wash the truck to clean off evidence they had it.

Saw on another live feed from local news station when one of the ambulances left the scene, it wasn't in a hurry, so that isn't good news for the occupant, sad to say.

The reports says it was VW with the self-inflicted gunshot wound? Sounds like maybe the shot also grazed CW, or VW made an attempt to take him out before shooting herself and missed.
