This is what I found to be standard options on the 2014 base model Cruze... it has an emergency trunk release... and it says “tracker System”

Pearl was possibly able to call whoever they called to get the last ping because if DNV financed the vehicle, they had the VIN and technically still own the car.

I guess even if she paid cash but hadn’t had time to register it in her name they technically still own the vehicle too. And yes any vehicle with OnStar can be tracked without a paid subscription. They record and might even sell the data for research purposes. A lot of people disable onstar for that very reason and it’s simple to do

Agree. But going with the drug idea did DW head back to Dublin's to look for phone and left DNV to deal with buy? So, is Car 3 drug dealer or opportunistic predator or someone known to DNV that had been following her that evening just waiting for opportunity?

That’s the million dollar question and more than likely the answer to what we all want to know. Where is DNV

I highly recommend joining the closed FB page and reading the posts from RC's friend. Initials TW. She asks many of the same questions we have here. Her comments on TT and JDT are very interesting. Sadly I think she has been muted by the group

She wasn't muted.

Question for all our locals. What is over by the Shell Station that someone would want to go to at 11pm at night? Besides an apartment, what is over there? I see a whataburger on Google maps but maybe someone who knows the area can give us some color commentary. If you were a 24 year old, why would you go over there?

Why was anyone in the vicinity of the Shell Station at 11pm?

I'm not a local but I've seen a Waffle House nearby mentioned several times.

This I my first post- I’ve been a lurker since this summer with MT case, and one day on here I randomly came across DNV’s disappearance just after it happened and haven’t been able to forget about her since. The circumstances surrounding her and her vehicle’s disappearance with no trace are so unusual and also sad that no one has come forward with the truth.
I’m happy that there is so much more interest on here lately and she has not been forgotten bc it seemed like the media wasn’t picking up on this case like I wished they would.

@cedgison thank you for all of your input and answers- what a huge difference it makes to have an insider share information here! Especially when the media and LE say little to nothing. May I ask how you know JDT and do you personally know DNV?

Thoughts: Why would DNV blindly follow DW across town if she believed she was following him to Ollies- she knew that Ollie’s was nearby Dublin’s and a completely different direction than DW was driving ? Remember, DW said he was driving home, but that DNV didn’t know that and followed him anyway thinking he was headed to Ollie’s. Huh?
Theory: Seems like DW and DNV had already planned to meet someone at Shell across town. Once they arrived at Shell, DNV realized she didn’t have her phone, so it was decided that DW would go get her phone and meet her at Ollie’s while she met with ??? Drug dealer maybe?

Welcome!

I do not personally know DNV and met JDT through the case.

Totally agree. Drug deal makes sense and DW feels ok leaving DNV there as she might know the dealers and he didn't. This is just a guess. Still don't know if Car 3 was dealers or someone else.

One thing about some of the corrected info we found out from RCs friend TW that has me really thinking... she replied that she did not think DNV lost her phone when someone asked if it was known for sure her phone was lost/left behind.

I updated the google map for correct address for DW house. Not sure going to DW house made sense with the schedule? Maybe the Shell was the destination for drug meetup? I don't get going for fast food when they will be eating with the rest of the group in the next hour? Ideas?

Google Maps

Looking at your map, going south on I-65 would have been the way to get to DW house. if she realized in the car she didn't have her phone and signaled him to get off at the I-90 exit the Shell Station would have been the first stop.

One thing that has been nagging me is if DNV and DW were running an "errand" together, why would they go in two separate cars? If they were going to pick something and then go back to Ollie's, why not take one car?

If instead they were going to ditch RC & MK and hang out at DW's house, DNV would take her car so she could drive home at the end of the night.

But then the question becomes: why didn't he pick up the phone and meet her back at the Shell Station where she was waiting and continue on to his house? Doesn't add up.

If I could have one question answered it would be: when did DW leave Dublin's and when did he get to Ollie's.

Three cars are on surveillance camera between 11:05 and 11:24 at the Shell Station 15 minutes from Dublin's, so they were not at Dublin's or Ollie's from 10:50 - 11:23 or 11:39 (respectively).

Maybe it makes sense to go back to the idea that DW and DNV were in 2 cars because they were on different paths for that portion of the evening but both were heading in the same direction. Or for whatever reason they didn't want to be seen driving together and had planned to hook up at DNV apt or DW house?

Assuming each person had a different agenda, DW's plan that evening was interrupted by DNV losing phone and him having to circle back to Dublin's when originally he might have been heading home or to return rental car? DNV might have been on a path to acquire drugs and so had prearranged to meet dealer at Shell with the idea of heading back to Dublins to look for phone.

I keep going back to the timeline at the Shell where Car 3 enters shortly after DW departs. I've always wondered about this timing. Was it a coincidence that it happened this way and Car 3 saw DNW by herself and made their move? or had there been a prearranged meet time and things just worked out this way with DW pulling out and Car 3 pulling in?

Yes the phone story has always seemed off. It seems like DW found her missing phone
in the parking lot at Dublin’s pretty quickly- did he go inside to look for it or immediately find it on the ground outside? What a great eye! Why did he not wait there for her longer if he thought DNV was following him to Dublin’s? He found her phone, decided she wasn’t showing up and he was leaving very quickly. (11:37 I believe) left and got to Ollie’s by 12. If her phone was indeed that obvious and easy to see In the parking lot, it seems someone else would’ve seen it already and turned it in or something. How did he find that “missing phone” so fast? And why did he leave Dublins so fast if he believed (as he has said) that DNV left the Shell after him and was following him there?

This goes against my DW is telling the truth and car #3, who DNV prearranged to meet at the Shell did something. No stone unturned though...

From my understanding. An employee saw him looking for the phone and asked him if he was looking for a phone because she found one on a trunk and gave it to the bartender or something along that line.
Maybe DNV recalled sitting it down on the trunk while she tied her shoe or something once she realized she didn’t have it??? So he kind of had an idea of where to look.
Going back for the phone I thought was one thing we were sure was a fact.

I am pages behind, but did see a request for map. Busy with real life until Friday - will return then to add maps based on all theories.

Did you take this to mean that DNV deliberately left the phone at Dublin's? Or was her phone taken from her at Dublin's?

I’m trying to think like a 24-yr old, with the opportunity to drive my new-to-me car on the first evening I had it, knowing that I had about 20-40 mins until another friend would be off work. I wonder if it’s as simple as DNV wanted to just drive - anywhere - and the two decided to take the long way to Ollie’s and not the most direct route?

Its nothing like yours but just put in DNV estimated address and DW actual address along with other known points that evening to give us a visual of what might and might not make sense. Google Maps

Its an interesting idea but I keep coming back to the Car 3 pulling in quickly after DW left DNV at Shell station. Could DNV have been driving around like you said and have been followed and didn't realize it and the Shell was perfect opportunity to abduct DNV after DW left the Shell to return to Dublin's?
