That is strange. When I looked the UID up on NamUs, it was last updated on February 27th. Maybe they have identified her, but not in NamUS?

I recently received a response from ViCap about this UID. She has been identified by DNA but her identity is not being released.

Her NamUs UP casefile is still up.

Well, that's good news, hopefully we will eventually learn her identity.

I have always thought Paulette Webster from Illinois [https://www.findthemissing.org/en/cases/6793/91/] was strikingly close in resemblance, only she went missing in 1988...but dentals and height were spot on. I almost wish they made a mistake in their DOD estimate

Guess it just reiterates just how many missing people there are out there. :-(

I have looked at this case so many times...this girl was "Shannon" in my head, because she looks like a girl I once knew by that name....so excited to find out her real name and know she will be going home.

this is another one of my "pet cold cases" that have been identified in the last few weeks. I hope they can find out who killed this young girl, and they pay for the crime.

Wow, awesome news! I've thought of this girl often!

I can't imagine that the DOD would be incorrect. No only would it have to have been incorrect in DoeNet and NamUs, but also in the news report just released.

And if we accept that the DOD is probably correct, for this to be Paulette Webster, not only would her DLC have to be incorrect, but also her DOB. (or else, they severely underestimated the UID's age and Paulette was alive for a decade after her disappearance).

Pretty far-fetched IMO.
