AL AL - Kahleb Rowan Collins, 1, his dad & sis were killed in a car crash, he wasn't with them, Fayette County, 8 Dec 2024

The details are worse that I thought. That’s not abuse, it’s torture. Wendy, Pam - WTF you want to call her, is equally responsible for Kahleb’s death. I take back anything in her defense I’ve said.

Wild female animals at least protect and defend their young. I’m literally sick to my stomach right now.

he was 1 year old. I just can't get past the whole hanging him from a rafter to beat him thing. How does one become so depraved as to do that to a BABY??

Makes me remember his post in November about Kahleb's organs growing but his body not. Not to be too graphic, but decomp makes a body swell :(

We now know that by the time he posted that K was dead and either disposed of in a garbage bag in the shed or already moved to a new location. Sick Sick Sick man.

All the good that I can take from this, is because of current technology, these abusive parent teams are getting caught.

Skyler Wilson.
Troy Koehler.
Thomas Valva.
Parker Scholtes.
I could continue.

All these children died, and in all cases, the communication between the parents was or will be key at trial. And not just conversations about abuse, but sending pictures or videos of abuse. Skyler's home was wired with cameras so his adoptive father could tune in and watch him and his brother being abused from work.

Kahleb's father is not around to face the music, but his mother is, and should, face consequences for her deliberate lack of intervention in the child abuse and murder of her son.

MOO

I just started reading this thread and don't know if this has been addressed?

The grandfather has been arrested under the Alabama law for being a "custodian" who was mandated to report his missing grandson Kahleb and did not.

This is "Caylee's Law" mandatory reporting for the parents, guardians and custodians of missing children.
Were the parents only permitted to have their 2 children if there was a 'custodian" living in the residence and it was the grandfather?

Moreso what he said about Kahleb’s back in that post. His text to her said he couldn’t move! I can’t imagine how much pain that baby was in.

It always blows my mind that there are average citizens out there who will not think twice about helping a stranger in need or put their own safety or even their own lives at risk to help complete strangers during natural disasters, car accidents, house fires etc not because they're trained professionals but simply because they're there and want to help. And then there's people like this.....ones who won't do the bare minimum for their own children or grandchildren when they're desperately in need of being saved from something. I'll never FULLY understand that great divide.

I guess we know why these precious babies looked miserable, even tortured, in the photos. I can’t say I am disappointed to see that look on Pam’s face in her booking photo.

What happened? It seems like they were originally very devoted to RyLeigh. She looked joyful, even. This is so freaking sad.

IMO:
The world is full of the enablers and finally they are being criminally charged.
Be it supplying a firearm to a minor/child or looking the other way when your child is being sexually or physically abused because it would change their relationship with the abuser, financially and/or personally.
Then you have the relatives and neighbors who look the other way and don't report the abuse of a child that they are aware of.
Abuse of children in homes, institutions, churches etc.

Then there are those people who just act on instinct and help, and like you said with no concern for their own safety which has ended some of their lives.

The laws must be made stricter for all child abusers and a mandatory life w/o parole if they caused the child's death.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Kahleb, I think the father made it all up and mom went with it. I also don't know if the mom wasn't abusive as well. I don't feel bad at all of this mother, the father and the grandfather. God bless those babies. IMO

I think this woman should serve prison time. However the presence of certain mitigating factors (groomed as a minor, clinically low intelligence, severe abuse are a few I've thought about) may reduce her culpability and therefore her sentence. Her actions were reprehensible and perhaps she was an informed and willing participant in all of the abuse. But until all of that information is available, I'm still considering that she may have been a victim of horrors herself in that household. It doesn't excuse her actions, but it should IMO affect her punishment as deemed appropriate by a judge/jury.

IMO:
Will Ryleigh and Kahleb's deaths be another case of negligent social workers?
Did the parents lose custody of the children for abuse and neglect and did the grandfather get custody of the children and the state didn't follow up on the children's safety and just who was living with them and grandfather?

"FAYETTE COUNTY, AL (WBMA) — Court records reveal defense attorneys for the grandfather of missing toddler Kahleb Collins are seeking access to confidential state records surrounding the family and potential child abuse claims.

Subpoenas filed in court ask for all DHR records pertaining to Steven Brad Collins, Wendy Pamela Bailey, Ryleigh and Kahleb Collins regarding possible abuse/neglect since January 2024.

Judge Merrell Nolen ordered those records will be sealed. A confidential court review of the documents will determine what is relevant to the case."

K.C. is Kahleb's Great Aunt on his mother's side. She called Kahleb's deceased father "a sadistic, narcissist, evil person that preyed on a young woman."

These poor kids never seem to be smiling in any photo that has been publicly released. JMO
bold by me
I was going to say the same thing -- the children, even the little one, had faces that looked like they thought they were in trouble for doing something wrong. JMO and SMH

I'm just now finding this thread -- sad children -- did they ever have a good, fun day? Such a shame, IMHO.

Just read all the posts in this thread, and the details of what happened to Ryleigh and what's alleged to have happened to Kahleb. Poor children! I can't imagine the pain they went through. At least they are no longer in pain and no longer being abused.
I don't have children and I don't want them, but that doesn't mean I don't want the best for them and fior them to be well-cared for and treated as they should be.
This case is so sad and horrible. I can't even type out everything I want to say. I just hope there's justice for Ryleigh and Kahleb. This one is going to stick with me.

"According to a report from Birmingham CBS affiliate WIAT, investigators learned that Kahleb had not been seen alive since Sept. 9. John Bailey, the toddler’s grandfather and legal custodian, was arrested on Dec. 11, and charged with one count of failure to report a missing child."

I posted a link a page or so back from MSM that states John Elton Bailey's attorney has requested to be allowed to subpoena the DHR records going back to January of 2024. I don't think we have an approved source for the rumors that he was a court appointed custodian of the children. All we know so far is that he was charged as a guardian of the children but we have debated whether that means he is court appointed or simply an adult household member.

There it is. Grandpa is the legal custodian. So he's as bad as the parents, not thinking it's a duty to protect and love children.

You know how we each tend to follow certain kinds of cases? I can't handle cases about children. I avoid them whenever possible. I started watching this case because I thought the baby might have been ejected from the truck. The only other child case I've followed is the DeOrr Kuntz Jr. case, when I thought he was lost on a camping trip. I hate that parents can do anything evil to their child. I don't understand it. It gives me nightmares.

I admire you and those like you who know that they don't want children and don't have them.

It's totally incomprehensible to most people's minds and hearts what some people are capable of doing to children yet some things never change, abusing, torturing and killing children has been going on for thousands of years throughout the world and becoming a so-called civilized nation just put the abuse behind closed doors.

ETA sorry just saw @Izzylizzy 's just above this one which seems to indicate legal custodian.
It's been confusing reporting on the custodian/guardianship of the children and the g'father John Bailey.
Reporters haven't delved much into the family's history which I find surprising.
