AL - Kahleb Rowan Collins, 1, his dad & sis were killed in a car crash, he wasn't with them, Fayette County, 8 Dec 2024

Ok NOW we can discuss this, thank you!

So we know DHR was involved, that has been out for a while. What’s his attorneys angle in asking for the DHR records? There can’t be anything good in them which will help their client. I guess it’s just procedural on their part.

What was happening in January 2024 that attracted DHRs attention? Was Ryleigh being abused at that time? Does Collins have other grown kids?

RyLeigh's DOB - 4/22/22
Kahleb's DOB - 4/?/23
I think John's attorney simply wants to know his client's exact role in the children's lives and what was required of him specifically in that role so he can try to defend his client for his acts and or omissions.

the beginnings of a good timeline here:
Kahleb Collins: A timeline of what we’ve learned in the search for missing Fayette Co. 1-year-old

I think eventually the date of DHF becoming involved with the family should be added. Right now I don't think anyone knows that info
IMO:
LE is using the January 1,2024 beginning date for any records and I gather it wasn't a random date picked from the air?
They could have gone back to when Hyleigh was born and didn't.
Stay tuned.

"Subpoenas filed in court ask for all DHR records pertaining to Steven Brad Collins, Wendy Pamela Bailey, Ryleigh and Kahleb Collins regarding possible abuse/neglect since January 2024.

Judge Merrell Nolen ordered those records will be sealed. A confidential court review of the documents will determine what is relevant to the case.

A subpoena to the Fayette County Sheriff's office requests records for all calls to the family's home on Highway 129 since January 1, 2024 and any law enforcement records related to the parents."

“Wendy Pamela Jean Bailey acknowledged the fact of knowing and failing to intervene on more that [sic] two occasions that Khaleb Rowan Collins was physically abused by tortuous means such as being bound with rope, physically assaulted, and being bound by a rope from a loft.”

Collins sent pictures to Ms. Bailey of their son hanging from a rope with blood on his body, and a photo of him lying on the floor with extreme bruising, followed by the messages, “He want [sic] move,” and “Im [sic] so sorry,” according to court records
Awful.
Poor little baby boy.

From the link :
Collins then sent a message stating, “He moving” to which Ms. Bailey responded, “He just looks wore out and tried (tired ?) and hurt hopefully that’s all,” according to court records.
Red parentheses mine.

What kind of response is that from his own mother ?
Not feeling very sympathetic to her right now.
A loving mom gets home from wherever she is and grab her kids and leaves, or if in danger -- do it secretly .... but get out !
Or at least call the police and show them the evidence on your phone.

I can see a defense conjured up if he didn't have custody or some kind of custody over Kahleb.
As stupid as it would sound they could claim that he was told by WB and SC that Kahleb was with a relative/friend for some unfathomable reason to the average person yet he believed them.
If he was Kahleb's custodian then anything they claim for his reasons to not have reported Kahleb being abused/missing would be DOA to prosecutors and a jury.

I don't think there was anything wrong with Kahleb, I think the father made it all up and mom went with it. I also don't know if the mom wasn't abusive as well. I don't feel bad at all of this mother, the father and the grandfather. God bless those babies. IMO
Bbm.
Sadly, we'll most likely never know as she's going to clam up and not say a word; imo !

I’m curious where she was when she received this message? Has anyone seen information that indicates she was working outside the home in this time period?

I’m thankful the two were stupid enough to exchange the messages, without them LE would have suspicions but not enough evidence to arrest.

January 1, 2024 is the date selected by John Bailey's defense attorney to request records going back to, not LE. Whether that is when DHF became involved with the family or why he set that as his date is not known yet IMO.

It never ceases to amaze how many idiots will document on camera the abuse of their children. I am thankful they were that stupid but just how stupid does one have to be to document in text and by photo and/or video their crimes against children??

True, one the news articles yesterday said she didn’t have an attorney yet. But when one is appointed, I’m wondering if some of what she admitted while being questioned by LE will be tossed out. Meaning, attorney will claim she was suffering from some condition related to head trauma, medication, etc., from the accident.

Maybe the text exchanges are strong enough on their own and it wouldn’t matter?

Reading their Facebook posts, particularly his, gives you the answer to that question. In one post, after they first moved to Alabama. He talks about his employer failing to provide his W2 by February 15th. Says they are in deep trouble now - he called the IRS and FBI and reported them. It wasn’t a joke, he was serious.

Thanks for clearing that up for me.
I was a bit confused when thinking it was LE and why they didn't go back further on the families history or non-history with police and CPS.

sounds to me like she is the one who gave LE the info that Kahleb's body as placed in a bag on or around September 29th and later moved somewhere else. I think she doesn't know exactly where his body is now because Steven weas the one who moved the body and she was not present for the final disposal.

If that is the case bad luck for her because her only bargaining power for a plea is IMO by telling LE where to find K's body.

I can’t help but wonder how Kahleb survived after the brutal torture in July, until on or around September 29th? Are we to believe John didn’t witness any of the aftermath? Difficult to imagine he knew nothing about his condition.

It’s also difficult to believe she didn’t know where Collins disposed of Kahleb’s body. He didn’t hide anything else from her, why withhold that detail?

I’d like to know where the local trash in the area is taken for disposal. Collins wasn’t working at that time correct? If he was, roofing contractors have dumpsters on job sites for tearoffs. Even outside of that, he could have put him in a dumpster anywhere. It’s a thought…

It's not as easy as you might think to dispose of something illicitly in a construction dumpster.

They are charged the same rate if they are filled completely or have voids, so often there is someone supervising to make sure every cranny is filled.

They get penalised if there is general waste in there if the dumpster is only meant to contain construction materials.

One of the first things many workers do is check the dumpster every morning to make sure nothing has been put in it illegally overnight by general members of the public.

Neveah Tucker's body was put in a construction dumpster and found almost immediately by the work crew.

The killer of Jesse Baird and Luke Davies disposed of bloodstained evidence which included personal items of his victims in a construction dumpster, it was also discovered almost immediately, first thing the next morning, by a work crew member checking the dumpster.

Some sites even set up surveillance cameras if there's a persistent problem with randoms dumping trash.

I'm not saying people don't get away with it, but a general waste dumpster is far more likely to contain a variety of items in bags and boxes with various stains and odours, that probably only waste disposal workers or people searching for food or recyclables are going to investigate. Construction dumpsters are very closely monitored by comparison.

(Don't do crime, kids!)

IMO, I believe there will be more charges against the mother. May be wrong.

I hate to even think this, but people have mentioned they had dogs. Where are their bodies? Poor Kaylebs might be close by. I'm so sorry. IMO

The dog I've seen in several pictures on their Facebook page is what looks like a Chihuahua. Did he kill dogs, sorry I'm confused about what you mean?

I m just thinking if he did this to children he had to be cruel to his animals. Is there anywhere he took the pets when they stopped living?

I'm having a hard time understanding something. If the grandfather was appointed the legal custodian of these children, I'm assuming there was a problem with who'd generally be the custodians, the birth parents. Would the courts allow the legal custodian and children to live with the noncustodial parents? That sounds like a recipe for the sort of tragedy we have here.

That's what happened with Quinton. And we know how that worked out. :(
