It makes me sick to my stomach to see the photos of all of these abused children. It hurts. Little Lucas will stay with me forever. They all will.

“When she found out that he was not in the truck, she asked the cops ‘where is my grandson then? They didn’t even know,” said Katherine Chaplin, Kahleb’s great aunt. “She did not know he was missing until later on when the grandfather said that he was staying with a family friend, and had been for two months.”
[snip]
“It’s no different than some kid being snatched up in the street. He was reported missing by my sister, by his grandmother, but yet, they waited a week,” Chaplin said.
[snip]
Family members say they brought Kahleb’s sister back to Louisiana and buried her there. They continue to urge anyone with information about Kahleb to call 911

ALEA reported the father’s blood was taken to test for any drugs in his system during the time of the crash. The results are unknown, according to ALEA’s crash report.

I would be interested in seeing Ryleigh's autopsy report. reported in the article above and several others - Ryleigh had very minimal obvious external injuries and yet she died. We can presume that her injuries must have been far more serious internally. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

My question is, did her injuries seem consistent and aged to have occurred in the wreck? Is it possible her injuries were internal and NOT caused by the wreck? Is it possible she was dead when placed into the vehicle? While it is less likely that she died from injuries not related to the crash, I am troubled by the lack of any restraints and the fact that her baby brother was apparently disappeared months ago and still missing.

What was going on with this couple? Hoping Steven's tox results sheds some light on that.

How sad. Did dad's post about his son's organs growing but not his body (Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome?) have any validity to it? Was this actually a sick child whom the parents became overwhelmed with or just a made-up story in an attempt to excuse this poor child's sudden absence plus perhaps gain some sympathy from others to boot?

I find it really interesting that in the Grandfather's charges there is an exact date (in September) listed for his failure to report the missing child. Wish we knew more details about how that date came about.
I think the father posted about his son's health in November as a cover story. Grandpa knows Kahleb was last seen in early September. MOO Kahleb wasn't in the car when it went off the road.

Dear Websleuths Members and Guests,
It is truly hard to fathom the gut wrenching pain people feel who don't know what happened to their missing loved ones. Especially this time of year. What's so frustrating is there are hundreds if not thousands of unidentified bodies/remains all over the country waiting to be tested but because of budget issues no testing is taking place. Their families are suffering waiting to find out what happened to their loved ones. You can help those families get the answers they deserve and, at the same time, make sure those obnoxious ads stay off of Websleuths.com. Become a monthly subscriber to DNA Solves.com. Note what looks like a child's tablet on the floor in the back seat of the truck

little ryleighs autopsy results can definitely elucidate that...they can look for healing bruises, old healed/healing bone fractures, and lividity or rigidity that could indicate she was dead prior to the time of the crash. its an interesting theory and i would NOT be surprised if she had prior injuries.

Are autopsies regularly done on car crash victims to pinpoint the exact cause of death? Or only if there's no apparent external injuries?

i briefly interned at my local medical examiners for a month and saw all the bodies coming in and get processed. in alberta at least, if an accident victim had catastrophic injury ie brain gone, they occasionally just did an external exam, took toxicology, fingerprints, and an xray. if there was doubt about COD or MOD (ie accident vs suicide), they would do a full autopsy. because of the weirdness with the case and question of murder suicide, it would be prudent for the MEOs to do a full autopsy, but ofc idk how the alabama system works

I wonder why both parents go by different first names…

this article quotes Steven's brother. Per Steven's FB page he and his brother were estranged some time back. To me this answers one of my questions about how/why the Collins side of the family weren't even aware Kahleb was missing. I don't think Collins side were much involved in the couple's life. No clue what exactly caused that estrangement.

And there is such a wide age gap between Steven and Wendy. ......

Katherine Chaplin is Kahleb's Great Aunt on his mother's side. Chaplin called Kahleb's deceased father "a sadistic, narcissist, evil person that preyed on a young woman."

Chaplin says she respects law enforcement, but they along with children services dropped the ball on this case.

This article says Kahleb's Mom worked for Walker County. Kahleb's little face just wrecks me in this photo, he looks so sad.

[SBtycya for focus) Kahleb's little face just wrecks me in this photo, he looks so sad.
I suspect Aunt Katherine is correct about Steven Bradley, as to the second sentence, yes, so very sad and dejected. big sissy Ryleigh has a similar sad and defeated look about her.

does Kahleb appear to be standing in the chair in the photo above to anyone else? I thought he was reported to have been not crawling or walking? I would think standing would happen somewhere between those two developmental markers?

That looks like a walker or "exersaucer" and they prop a baby to stand before he can stand on his own. My sons could bear weight on their legs and stand in that contraption before they could crawl or stand independently.

Those poor children. Are there any photos of them smiling, ever? I'm guessing not, and that they saw a lot of hearthache during their short lives. (If indeed Kahleb is no longer with us) MOO.

This photo is from July per the news link above. To me it looks like he is standing up in one of those papasan chairs.
