She appears to be lying down for the photo? Basing this on how her hair is arranged

I think she is lying down here....

the shadows on the wall behind her indicate she is standing JMO. If she were lying down there wouldn't be as much shadow behind her.

none of which IMO give her a pass on the duty to protect her children IMO. The children weren't in the position to protect themselves. That duty fell to the adults in that household, specifically their mother and grandfather in this case. MOO

as @bombardier said above:
BBM
Now I'm confused, weren't there three adults in that household? I may have missed some info during this thread, but why did it fall solely on the mother and grandfather?

She was charged with abuse of a corpse, first-degree domestic violence, aggravated child abuse, and criminally negligent homicide.

So, along with the grandfather being charged for Kahleb, I take it so is the mother? (Her first charge is abuse of a corpse.)

sorry I should have clarified. My post was in response to the suggestion that Pam was a battered woman and feared Steven and therefore that may be her defense for not protecting her children. Steven absolutely had the same duty to his children but if he was an abuser in the situation then Pam and John STILL had the duty to protect the children from Steven's speculated abuse.

Bailey was placed in the Fayette County Jail on Monday afternoon. Hamlin said the SBI brought the charges and will request her bond be denied pursuant to Anaih’s Law.

“This investigation has been particularly challenging as it involved the tragic deaths of two young children,” 24th Judicial Circuit District Attorney Andy Hamlin said.

“Wendy Pamela Jean Bailey acknowledged the fact of knowing and failing to intervene on more that [sic] two occasions that Khaleb Rowan Collins was physically abused by tortuous means such as being bound with rope, physically assaulted, and being bound by a rope from a loft.”

Collins sent pictures to Ms. Bailey of their son hanging from a rope with blood on his body, and a photo of him lying on the floor with extreme bruising, followed by the messages, “He want [sic] move,” and “Im [sic] so sorry,” according to court records

Collins then sent a message stating, “He moving” to which Ms. Bailey responded, “He just looks wore out and tried and hurt hopefully that’s all,” according to court records.

Graphic details warning

Charging documents against Bailey said, "after Kahleb died, his body was placed into a bag and stored in an outside storage building for a brief period prior to final disposal at an unknown location."

On the aggravated child abuse and domestic violence charges, the criminal complaint states that some time in July, Bailey blatantly, and on more than two occasions, failed to report or intervene during known physical abuse.

In one instance, records state, Bailey received a message from Collins saying that he was going to kill Kahleb.

That message was followed by photographs of Kahleb "hanging from a loft with a rope with blood present on his body,' and of him lying bruised and face up on the floor.

The photos, according to court documents were followed by another message from Collins that read, "He want (sic) move. I'm so sorry."

Collins then sent another message that read, "He moving."

Bailey acknowledged the photos and replied, "He just looks wore out and tire (sic) and hurt hopefully that's all."

<modsnip - personalizing>

Having 2 kids at the age of 22 and being with a man nearly twice her age who's been described as a narcissist leads me to believe she was hardly in a place to make rational decisions about herself or her kids.

A lot is unknown about the relationships among the three adults in that house (who was financially dependent on whom, etc.) but to assume she is as responsible as the "man" who killed himself and their daughter and tried to kill her is not a position I agree with. IMHO MOO and all of that.
I agree with your post if we know what you state is factual. But so little is known about Pam at this point. What we do know - LE has enough evidence to charge her with aggravated child abuse, first degree domestic violence and abuse of a corpse.

That sounds like she played a role in his death, though I note she isn’t charged with murder.

<modsnip - quoted post was snipped> JMO.

This from the mother of the child. I wonder if that is the huge noggin bump black eye and apparent abrasion to little Kahleb's face in the photo with his sissy? What those poor babies lived and saw must have been horrible. IF Pam pleads Battered Spouse Syndrome it's a hard NO from me. She saw photographic evidence of extreme abuse sent to her by her husband and nonchalantly responded with he just looks tired and hurt - HOPEFULLY that's all.

Im sure every woman and child in that household faced violence. In that sense she likely is a victim of abuse.

But this is absolutely unacceptable, the abuse she likely endured should not be used to shield her from accountability in the death of her kids, especially Khaleb

I'm sorry you lived through DV but also glad you were able to extricate yourself from that situation.
