He does say “3rd” in the video. I am thinking it was a slip. No one there asked to clarify I do not believe. The presser is VERY confusing... JMO

You’re right, he absolutely says “3rd” and it is confusing. I don’t believe he meant there was a 3rd person he’s just incompetent at presentation. He doesn’t sound like the sharpest pencil and doesn’t convey his points very well. Stick a pointy hat on this guys head.

Yes, they have identified the second person who is a suspect. It's the first person, who is a POI, that they need to locate. LE said the search will be conducted in the area the POI is known to frequent. Imo
How do they know where the POI likes to frequent if it is man #1?? (Who they urge to come forward?) So now I’m thinking the reference to POI and this area relates to PS IMO - else who?

I don't think it's a slip of the tongue by the Chief, I think it's telling what is on his mind: PS, guy in video he says he has identified and the first guy on the video. Three guys. and then there is the female arrested with PS, and maybe a white woman and maybe someone in a vehicle who was possibly witnessed getting out and putting KM into the vehicle. (the person from the vehicle is the only person I think can be a repeat from this completely made up by me "list" as I think that person could be PS)

I wonder if we are seeing a clip of the video that doesn't have person number 1 in it, but LE has more of the video showing person number 1.

Is it possible that the full video shows person number 1 walking past the children (before the video clip begins). Person number 1 may have thrown down candy, then we see person number 3 who seems to ignore the kids, then person number 2 who leads the kids away.

Yes I believe there is more video - the one released has CH5 in the corner which I’ve mentioned before seems like there are more cameras with other angles JMO

It might not be too difficult to pick out the suspect's vehicle from cctv, even if the abduction took place between cameras. One would watch the cctv footage of the line of traffic just before the place where the abduction occurred, and watch the line of traffic just after. Is there a vehicle, somewhat matching the description of the witness, that gets out of the queue, stops for a few minutes, or turns around and goes back? If there is a vehicle that is out of queue and cannot be accounted for, then perhaps it is the suspect's vehicle.

Here’s the problem, I’m willing to bet there are minimal cameras in the immediate areas adjacent to Tom Brown that are pointed at the street. Any cameras in that area are more likely pointed towards your personal property and not the street. As far as I know there aren’t any cameras in any local housing projects and government cameras are mostly located on interstates and major traffic routes. I believe they’ve already located most, if not all, of the helpful video and it’s sadly a dead end.

I've been busy with some events and haven't been able to keep up like I should and this might already have been covered (forgive me, if so.)

But watching the smidgen of the video they chose to share. The first thing seen is the kids picking up the papers. The 1st man in the video enters from the right side of the screen. It appears as if these papers are placed in a "bread crumb" fashion to lure the two toddlers. It is a possibility that in the seconds before the video starts, man1 is the guy who put out the papers and engaged the toddlers in the luring game. The second man2 enters from the gate across the way... not the same place that the first man enters. He stops and says something to the children, as evidenced by them stopping and listening to him. Then they merrily head back (Cupcake even leads the way) in the direction they (kids) came from. Did man1 lead the toddlers out as a "viewing" for man2? Was man2 watching from the area he came from? Was the path of papers leading away, but in front of, the gate purposely? Have the rest of those papers been recovered and what is the nature of them? At that particular moment, there was no wind according to the past weather observations. Were these papers planned to carry out this event or picked up rashly? I think I read s ok somewhere (help me out with the link) that LE said it appeared to possibly planned only 10-15 min prior to the abduction. Could this be because of this paper trail set up and where said papers came from?

There's a reason LE only chose those particular seconds, I think. They know the man who took her (man2) but they want to know who laid out those papers (man1.) The surveillance captures him doing that and they chose not to show it to the public.

Am I the only person who thinks it was still daylight when the video was taken?

I wouldn't go that far, but I will say I felt he was not prepared at all. At the beginning of the presser it was almost as if he forgot Kamille's last name. Not well organized or prepared. It also seemed the reporters were not clamoring for information.
I think these crimes are solved on the street. Hopefully someone will go to the police and not try to resolve it themselves.

It was the last night before a full moon. Not totally dark there either.

As I understand it, there are three POI's and one suspect.

POI #1 - PS, bonded out of jail
POI #2 - DB, still in jail
POI #3 - First man in the video
Suspect - Second man in the video

I don't think it's clear which POI the search is related to. MOO

Not according to the timestamp and recorded sunset/dark.

I think he was fatigued and possibly emotionally drained. He seemed to me to be fighting back tears early on.

So...is PS the one police have identified in the video?

I could speculate that man1 asked the kids to pick up the papers to "earn" candy. Probably because he didn't have enough candy to lure them out like he wanted. I think he deliberately wants the kids to walk out that way (but not follow him) so he isn't seen as the person interacting with them, but rather a passerby.

I'd love to know where toddler2 was found after Cupcake's abduction. Roaming? Came back alone and adults said where's Cupcake? Did the two toddlers know each other? Were they randomly chosen from the "birthday party?" One male and one female? Thoughts?

All good questions...

I watched the video again and it does seem like there is a brief moment of interaction between Man2 and toddlers, after he turns left onto the grassy area. It's hard to tell what was going on though with the big timestamp blocking his head. I wonder if he may have been looking to the left at this moment, back towards where he came, from to scope it out and potentially make sure no one is watching him, before he appears to lure the kids away. MOO

What if it is coins, not paper? How do we know it is pieces of paper?

  • #1,138
Yes, they did seem to pick things up as soon as the first man walked by. It's hard to tell if they were just continuing to pick things up off the ground or if he threw something down. Imo
The video starts with them picking things off the ground before the first man ever walks by.

I'm not sure it was paper, but it appears to be large rectangular lighter pieces. If you look closely, I think I see them all the way to the right... to the area where man1 enters the video.
What if it is coins, not paper? How do we know it is pieces of paper?

This is a very good point. A friend of mine who is a light-to-medium-skinned AA woman says that her nieces and nephews refer to her as their “white” aunt, because she is lighter skinned than her other relatives.
The lady who is now in custody on unrelated charges wouldn't have been confused for a white woman.
