I wonder if they did.......
Does this sound like it could have been a hand off to someone else?

I hope that they find the little Kamille. She is just 3 yrs old! Like seriously?! I wonder what is she going through. Was there anyone else who were watching after their children who might be hiding because maybe the kidnapper threaten them Or maybe who witnessed the scene but is afraid of the consequences???

I pray for the safety of the child

Could be, especially if the woman who was with the man who took her is not the woman who is in custody.

One way to buy time if you're kidnapping a child would be to find some local idiots at the corner store, show them 10k and give them enough money so they know you're serious, and tell them to find you a child. You meet immediately after the kidnapping in a secluded location, the child and money are swapped, and you take off as quickly as you can for a different state or country. Meanwhile the police are looking for and eventually questioning your minions, and all they have on you is a dubious story about meeting in an alley and money exchanging hands.

But why do you want or need the child?

"We want to make sure that her picture, her face, is out there in the media so that everyone, even in the surrounding states, knows who she is," #Birmingham Police Chief Patrick Smith said on expanding #AmberAlert for missing 3-year-old Kamille "Cupcake" McKinney.

As obscure as it would be...everything they said in the PC seems to indicate trafficking is definitely on the table.

Were questions asked about the other attempts? And did anyone see further information about the other attempts? Reading online social media about the methods and curious if that has been discussed?

They definitely didn't mention it in PC and no one asked that question. I really hope if they have another PC that will be one of the questions asked.

@rocket, having a hard time quoting you. I can think of a million nefarious reasons to want a child, but I think there might be easier ways to obtain one than pulling a well-loved kid out of a public birthday party where she'll be immediately and vocally missed.

Why would they need a child? Well it would not be for a trip to the zoo or the circus. I'm sure you know how dark things can get.

Well then I don't understand why you are asking what could they want with a child.

The question is does her mother recognize the person of interest?
Has a picture of the woman been released to the public yet? I know they have only lived there 1 month, but people have to buy groceries and gas. If someone doesn't recognize him, they may recognize her.

I've thought about this before, and what I'd like someone to do if they've taken a child and later realise that it was a mistake and they want a way out without escalating things...

What about taking the child to a hospital or clinic, just go to reception and say she's got a cold that you're bothered about. Then say you've left your other toddler in the car and go out to the car and drive off. The hospital staff won't immediately recognise the child, you'll have time to get away, but the hospital will call the police when they realise she's been left alone there, and police will figure out who she is and return her to her family.

Good and kind post.....but.... If I had a kidnapped child, I would avoid having that child or myself, on video cameras for a long time.....moo
