Has mom given an on-air interview and I missed it? I'm sure she's distraught and like any parent would naturally feel a bit guilty since the child went missing under her watch.

I have never and can't even fathom being in their position, but I "think" I would do exactly as her dad is doing - physically searching myself, begging for help on camera, thanking the news stations for doing the story and continuously updating.

If these two in question are indeed the ones involved in both the abduction and trying to lure other children earlier, I’m wondering if they had been looking all day for a child and then by the time they spotted little cupcake, they didn’t even try the luring - he just snatched her up! What could they possibly want a child that bad for?!? IMO, something pretty nefarious. I hope that’s not the case, but it just doesn’t sound good.

Officers now say they’ve made contact with TWO persons of interest and they are talking to these individuals now. Police still have not received information on Kamille McKinney’s whereabouts. Investigators won’t stop until there’s a resolution @CBS_42

• Crimestoppers, FBI, US Marshall Service, NCMEC all involved
• Special Victims Unit + robbery/homicide teams of BPD are involved?

Questions - chief answering:

• Don't want to close their minds or focus on one thing re: is it a stranger abduction
• Are the people of interest cooperating? Not going into complete detail into what they have or depth of the investigation but they are following every lead, two people in custody, they are POI, exhaustive search for video linking them to the location/whereabouts/crime. "Takes time to follow leads and get all LE on same page to make sure everyone is focused on putting in their part of what we need to close this thing"?
• Safe to say POI are answering questions
• Amber Alert is now expanding - important due to the amount of time that has passed and seeking attention of people out of state who may have further information
• No connection at this point between the parents and the POI but investigation is still ongoing
• THEY DO THINK OTHERS ARE INVOLVED BEYOND POIs (16:41)
• delay in Amber Alert wasn't due to police, it was a delay in reporting, a little bit of a delay as family/attendees of birthday party were searching on their own and thought they could find her
• Can't give information on the time lag of how long between reporting and missing
• Again, no idea where she is at this point. Remain hopeful she is still out there and alive and they will return her to her family.
